一位父亲有几个孩子，这些孩子时常发生口角。他丝毫没有办法来劝阻他们，只好让他们看看不合群所带来害处的例子。为了达到这个目的，有一天他叫他们替他拿一捆细柴来。当他们把柴带来时，他便先后地将那捆柴放在每一个孩子的手中，吩咐他们弄断这捆柴。他们一个个尽力去试，总是不能成功。
然后他解开那捆柴，一根根地放在他们手里，如此一来，他们便毫不费力地折断了。于是他就告诉他们说：「孩子们！如果你们大家团结一致，互相帮助，你们就像这捆柴一样，不能被你们的敌人折断；但如果你们自行，你们就将和这些散柴一般，不堪一折了。」

Father had a family of sons who were perpetually quarrelling among themselves. When he failed to heal their disputes by his exhortations, he determined to give them a practical illustration of the evils of disunion; and for this purpose he one day told them to bring him a bundle of sticks. When they had done so, he placed the faggot into the hands of each of them in succession, and ordered them to break it in pieces. They each tried with all their strength, and were not able to do it.
He next unclosed the faggot, and took the sticks separately, one by one, and again put them into their hands, on which they broke them easily. He then
addressed them in these words: "My sons, if you are of one mind, and unite to assist each other, you will be as this faggot, uninjured by all the attempts of your enemies; but if you are divided among yourselves, you will be broken as easily as these sticks."

??语伊索寓言故事：狮子和老鼠Lion was awakened from sleep by a Mouse running over his face. Rising up in anger, he caught him and was about to kill him, when the Mouse piteously entreated, saying: "If you would only spare my life, I would be sure to repay your kindness." The Lion laughed and let him go.
It happened shortly after this that the Lion was caught by some hunters, who bound him by strong ropes to the ground. The Mouse, recognizing his roar, came up, and gnawed the rope with his teeth, and setting him free, exclaimed: "You ridiculed the idea of my ever being able to help you, not expecting to receive from me any repayment of your favour; but now you know that it is possible for even a Mouse to confer benefits on a Lion."

这是一个难忘的秋天。八、九月的天就像破了个大洞，阴雨连绵不断。
那晚，雷鸣电闪、狂风大作，转眼河里的水已失去往日的宁静和清澈。他一路翻腾奔涌，高歌奋进，胡乱地拍打着河岸。
半夜3点，我被妈妈急促的呼唤声惊醒，随之包围我的.还有震耳的警笛声和防空警报声。我头脑立刻清醒，紧张地不知所措，只得像妈妈的尾巴一样，跟东跟西。我们望向窗外，目视着洪水翻堤，街道成海，店铺灌水，眼里充满心疼和无可奈何。
这是一个温暖的秋天。面对危险，总有英雄守卫着家园和人民。洪水来袭，党员干部彻夜未眠，敲破脸盆、喊破嗓子，挨家挨户催撤离；被困“孤岛”时，亮眼的“橘红色”和柔和的“橄榄绿”在暴雨中穿梭。冲锋舟、人背肩扛，无所畏惧的强行开进；停水停电时，灯火通明的政府大楼里，贴心的志愿者和工作人员手忙脚乱的端茶递水，送食物……
这是一个不屈不挠、奋发向上的秋天。洪水退却，家乡满目疮痍，全县人民众志成城，打响灾后重建保卫战。大家放弃中秋与家人团聚的时光，奔波在各个灾区现场。不久，损坏的电力设施和倒塌的电信设备修上了，冲毁的道路接上了，满是泥浆的街道和店铺焕然一新了……
人民群众的生活渐渐恢复往日的祥和，我也深刻的感受到：在自然灾害面前，人类是多么的渺小。这世间哪有什么岁月静好，只因为我们有强大的祖国！只因为我们有为民负重前行的党！我为生活在这么一个有爱的国度，万分骄傲与自豪！我相信，在未来的日子里，我的家乡会建设的更加美好。
