星期六，我去婆婆家。婆婆家养了几只小鸡，两只公的，四只母的。
我们吃完午饭以后，那些剩菜和骨头全倒给了小鸡，我想这些剩菜很脏，他们怎么会吃呢？令我惊讶的是小鸡们竟然全部吃光了，而且吃东西时还非常可爱呢！你看它们，那尖尖的小嘴向食物啄去，不一会儿，食物就被啄成像被毛虫啃过了的。还有些小鸡把食物叼到一边，然后一个人享受。看来，这些小鸡可不会谦让嘛！不过，我想它们也许是太饿了吧。

一天，妈妈有事出去了，临走是嘱咐我要按时喂小鸡吃东西。妈妈刚出门，我便来到了鸡窝前。这时，小鸡们纷纷围了上来，“叽叽”地叫了起来，好象是在说：“我饿了，我饿了！”我仿佛听懂了它们的话，急忙跑到菜田里摘了一些菜叶子，“来，来，来吃东西咯！”我边说边撒下了菜叶子。小鸡们看到有吃的.，馋的口水直流三千尺，眼睛都红了，又顾不了那么多便一拥而上。它们伸长脖子好象都在说：“让开，让开，我年龄最大，个子最高，所以我先吃！”我又扔下了一些。小鸡们见了更是争先恐后，它们紧紧地咬住菜叶子，毫不放松。其余的也不甘示弱，你争我抢，互不相让。这时，一只小鸡跑来了我的面前，可怜巴巴地望着我。我不明白什么意思，我仔细一看，它的嘴边挂着一片菜叶的角，看样子好象咽着了。我抱起它，小心翼翼地把那片叶子拖了出来，小鸡高兴地跳了起来，一溜烟跑回去吃东西了。过了一会儿，我端来一碗水放在了小鸡们的旁边，刚吃完东西的小鸡迅速跑了过来。它低下头喝水，每喝一口都要啄啄嘴。“呵，真好玩儿！”突然，水“哗”地一下倒翻在地上。霎时间，那些小鸡变成了“落汤鸡”，一个个开始发抖，无奈，只好和同伴们靠在一起取暖。“糟了，要是被妈妈知道我就玩完了……嘿嘿！我想到了，把它们的毛弄干了不就行了吗？”说完，我便跑到仓库捧了一堆稻草来到我的房间，然后我抱起小鸡放在了稻草上，最后，我拿起吹风机往它们身上吹。不一会儿，小鸡们就不再发抖了，我捧起稻草垫在了鸡窝里，然后，我把小鸡放了上去。顿时，鸡窝里热闹起来，有的爬土、有的赛跑、还有的……
几个时辰过去了，妈妈回来了，看见每只小鸡都精神饱满，活力贯发，高兴的合不拢嘴，夸我真能干。

今天，我高兴地端着剩下的饭菜来到了鸡窝前，小鸡们纷纷围了上来，眼睛都看着我，“叽叽”地叫着，好象在说“我饿了”。
我把碗一放下，小鸡们便一拥而上，你争我抢，互不相让，最小的.小鸡可可被挤了出来，它在旁边转过来转过去，都挤不进去，突然，只见小鸡可可拍着小翅膀跳在另一只小鸡的背上，那只小鸡吓得让开了，可可终于吃着东西了。我又端来一碗切碎的菜叶，里面还混有碎米，小鸡一看见最喜欢吃的青菜叶，又争先恐后飞跑过来抢着吃。
突然，“哗”地一下，碗倒了，菜叶散了一地，小鸡们用脚边扒着菜边吃着，有些小鸡们吃得差不多了，吃食的速度也变慢了。有一只小鸡在喝水，每喝一口都要啄啄嘴，小鸡们吃东西可真好玩啊！

有一次，我去奶奶家，看见奶奶正在给一群小鸡喂蚯蚓。
很快，蚯蚓被吃得差不多了。这时，有两只小鸡同时吃到一条蚯蚓，一只咬着蚯蚓的头，一只咬着蚯蚓的尾，它们一扯，蚯蚓就一分为二了。奶奶又挖了一些蚯蚓，小鸡们看见了，更加高兴极了，围了过去，围成了一个圆形的阵型，尾巴向上翘，嘴巴不停地啄着。吃完蚯蚓后。就跑到奶奶家门前的沙堆里去了，我很好奇，他们干什么呢？啊，有几只在啄沙子吃。
鸡怎么吃沙子呢？是不是没吃饱呀？所以才吃沙子呢？我赶忙跑去问奶奶：“奶奶，鸡为什么吃沙子呢？”奶奶说：“因为沙子可以帮助消化。沙子吃到鸡肚子里后，可以把食物磨碎，磨碎的东西更容易消化吸收。”
我听了奶奶的话，知道鸡为什么吃沙子了。啊，自然界真奇妙呀！
