夏天来了，爷爷和明明在院子里乘凉，他家院子里有一棵小树，树上刚长出了新芽，爷爷看着小树，对明明说:“明明，你到小树底下去，我来给你量身高吧!”明明马上走到这棵小树下，笔直地站着，爷爷在明明的身高处做了一个记号，并且用锤子在树上钉了一个钉子，爷爷说第二年夏天再来看看长高了多少。
冬天来了，雪花飘扬，明明在小树旁边堆了一个大雪人。又一年夏天到了，小树变成了大树，爷爷又给明明量身高了，明明又像去年一样站得笔直，头抬得高高的，他和爷爷都惊奇地叫了起来:“啊!怎么回事呀?个子不但没长高，反而变矮了呢?”
哈哈!明明真的没长高吗?其实明明长高了，小树也长高了。
