我仔细观察过竹子：一杆杆直直细细，却苍翠挺拔，竹叶上留着风雨后的痕迹，竹杆上也有一条条清晰的白印，大概是从山坡上滚下的碎石撞击后留下的疤吧。从竹杆的上方往下移动视线，主杆越来越粗，而上面的白印也越来越密集，在翠绿的竹杆上显得格外狰狞。竹叶也是饱受风霜，有的叶面发黄，带着点点黑斑；有的叶面破损，露出根根叶脉；有的已经被风吹走了，只剩下叶柄孤零零地矗立在寒风中。尽管它被大自然折磨得狼狈不堪，但它对生命的渴望，战胜了所有的风霜雨露，正如郑板桥所写的《竹石》：咬定青山不放松，立根原在破岩中，千磨万击还坚劲，任尔东西南北风。
