岛上最高之处是妈祖石像。妈祖像是由很多大石头打磨垒成的，妈祖石雕高洼地耸立在妈祖山颠峰。她眺望台湾宝岛，巴望着故国早日和平同一，又祷告海上过往船只的安全，她是和平的女神。我坐在妈祖像的脚下，远望对岸的宝岛，但愿台湾投入故国度量，两岸群众早日同一，两岸的小朋友能够相聚在和平的妈祖像前同享故国的繁华昌盛。

暑假里，爸爸带我去莆田游玩。
我们先去了西岩山，西岩山可陡了，山上有一块石碑，上面画着八仙过海的图像，山上的树木也非常茂盛，从远处看去，真像一片绿色的海洋。树林中还有可爱的小松鼠、野兔、野鸡、山雀。
我们下了山，就来到了玉湖公园。红漆的大门上还排列着整齐的铜球，我还是第一次见，我情不自禁地摸了摸，还挺光滑呢。刚走进公园的门，迎面扑来一阵淡淡的花香，五颜六色摆在门的两边和正中的台阶上。虽然我说不上花的名字，但我很喜欢它们，因为它们欢笑着迎接我们呢。。
走进去左边有一个很大的湖，湖水绿得像一块翡翠，静得像一面镜子，倒映着小桥和周围的景物。许多小朋友在湖里划船，湖的周围都是茂盛的大柳树，微风吹过，大柳树的枝条像美少女的头发随风飘动，有的坐在石凳上赏风景，有的坐在湖边钓鱼。
右面有好几个草坪，草坪上开满了小野花，小孩子们在草地上尽情玩耍。草坪周围的松树和柏树上挂满了爬山虎，好像一座天然的屏障。
