nowadays, we can see some boys and girls who live in a small world of their own. they bury themselves among books and are proud of themselves. they think that it will make them lose their face if they do housework for they often think themselves very noble.
these young people are wrong. in my opinion every student should have a knowledge of housework. after all, they will have a family of their own, and they should do their part in keeping a good home. boys should also learn to do housework, for what will they do if they remain single? though not all boys remain single,yet they will be very helpful in the family if they know some housework. anyhow they will not lose anything, but, on the contrary, they will gain something useful.
for what i said above, we can find some eamples of our fellow-students studying abroad. all young men do housework as girls do. someone would argue that we can employ servants. this is true.however, what shall we do if the servant leaves us and all things are left to ourselves? we just cannot leave our clothes as they are and let worms and ants eat them up. and what can we do it we go and study in a foreign country where servants are out our means to employ? we must work for ourselves. why not start to learn to do housework now or else it will be too late? everyone should learn to do housework. what do you think about my idea, boys and girls?

从前有个国王，他的御膳房里有个青年厨师，还不足二十岁呢。
有一天，国王带着随从来到野外荒凉的山坡上打猎。他弯弓搭箭，射中了一只肥大的灰白兔。国王高兴不已，带着肥大的灰白兔和随从骑马回宫。回到宫中，国王命令仆从叫来青年厨师，让厨师尽快把兔肉做好，送给他品尝。国王还一再叮嘱青年厨师要把兔肉烧得味道鲜美，喷香可口。
青年厨师按照国王的吩咐，先将兔的皮毛剥掉，清除五脏六腑，然后再用水清洗干净，放在一只砂罐里加上适量清水和油盐及各种香料用火烧卤，直到炖得肉烂骨脱，才把它捞出来放在餐盘里，撒上姜末、葱花和麻油，这才端给国王品尝。
正当青年厨师端着盘子给国王送兔肉，他的女友突然闯进宫来。这可把青年厨师吓得浑身打战。他说：“这是王官，你怎么私闯进来呢?要是被国王发现了，要把你关进牢房的!”
女友听了这话不以为然地说：“我又没犯法，国王凭什么把我关进牢房?”见他盘中放着香喷喷的兔肉，馋涎欲滴，“要我走可以，你得割下兔子后腿给我吃，不然，我就不走。”
“哼，别说一条兔子后腿，就是一只兔子的脚指头，我也不敢割给你吃。国王要我给他做的是全兔，要是少了一条后腿，我会被***头的!”
“少一条兔子后腿就要掉头，没那么严重吧?哼，你是想找个理由来吓唬我，其实是不想给我吃!你把一条兔子后腿看得比我还重要。那好吧，我吃不到兔子后腿肉，咱俩的`婚事就告吹。你休想娶我，咱们走着瞧!”女友恶狠狠地说。
青年厨师不由得吓出一身冷汗，心想：怪不得国王说有些人很不讲道理，反目成仇，果真如此啊。青年厨师想到他和女友情深似海，马上就要结婚了，如果为了一条兔子后腿就告吹，实在不值啊!想到这里，青年厨师赶忙拦住女友，说：“宝贝，别生气，我割下一只兔子后腿给你吃就是了。”
女友这才转怒为喜，拿着喷香美味的兔子后腿走出了官院。 青年厨师将烧卤好的全兔肉献给国王。国王立刻发现全兔肉少了一条后腿，便问青年厨师：“这兔子怎么只有三条腿呢?还有一条腿哪里去了?你偷吃了，是吗?”
青年厨师赶紧俯伏在地说：“启禀陛下，当初您没看清，您射死的这只灰白兔子，本来就只长了三条腿。”
“胡说，世上哪有三条腿的兔子呢?你欺骗本王，该当何罪?”国王怒发冲冠，令左右仆役将青年厨师按在地上重打四十下。 一会儿，青年厨师摸着皮开肉绽的屁股，***地说道：“陛下饶命啊，这兔子真的只有三条腿。陛下若不相信，明天您再去那山坡上打猎，保准还能射中一只三条腿的兔子啊。”
“呵呵，山间真有长着三条腿的兔子呀?那好吧，本王明天就带着仆役上山打猎，如果打不到三条腿的兔子，那就拿你问斩!”
青年厨师一听国王要斩他，吓得魂飞魄散，心想，世上哪有三条腿的兔子?这是我无奈骗了国王。天啊!看来我这回是死定了啊! 晚上，青年厨师饭也没吃，他躺在床上瑟瑟发抖，青年厨师想着哭着，迷迷糊糊地睡着了。
他梦见山坡上到处都是乱跑乱蹦的野兔，全是青一色的三条腿，还梦见国王带了一群随从来到山坡上打猎，射中了一只肥大的兔子。国王一见是只三条腿的兔子，不由得哈哈大笑，说：“哇!这世界上真有三条腿的兔子，还是青年厨师说得对。我输了，我要好好奖赏他啊!”
青年厨师惊醒过来，原来是一个梦。他多么希望梦想成真。他立刻掀开被子，跪在床上，双手合十，祈祷上天：上帝啊上帝，请您成全我这个年轻人吧，保佑保佑我吧，赐我一只三条腿的肥兔子，让国王明天能射中，免我一死，保我性命!
第二天，国王骑马背弓持箭，在一群随从的陪护下，又来到了原来那座山上打猎。青年厨师在前面带路，他提心吊胆地在幻想着，又在心里祈祷着：上帝啊上帝，赐我一只三条腿的兔子吧，救救我这年轻人的性命吧!
就在青年厨师异想天开的一刹那，突然从草丛里蹿出一只肥大的灰白兔子，国王立马瞄向兔子放箭，一下子射中了那只大肥兔子。随从拎起兔子好奇地向国王叫道：“陛下，您看，这只兔子怎么只有三条腿呢?”国王接过那只兔子一看，不由得大吃一惊：”哇!这荒山上果真有三条腿的兔子呢!“他把青年厨师叫到跟前说：”孩子，你赢了。我不仅饶你不死，回官后还要奖赏你!“ 其实国王知道，这是一只老兔子，年轻时可能被猎人用枪打断了一条后腿而侥幸活了下来。今天，他能射中这兔子，纯属巧合，也真是天意，是上天在拯救这个青年厨师，保住了青年厨师一条性命。
回到王富，国王传来青年厨师。青年厨师见了国王双膝跪下，问国王还有何吩咐?国王微微笑道：”孩子，今天我在山上果真射中一只三条腿的老兔子。你赢了我，我要奖赏你一笔财产，够你享用一生。你马上离开这里，去找你那个吃了兔子后腿的女友吧，但愿你们早日成亲，夫妻恩爱，幸福终身。“ 青年厨师一听国王这话，既感动又震惊，天呀!国王怎么知道我的恋人吃了一条兔子的后腿肉呢?啊，原来国王早就知道了，只是假装不知罢了，还故意在我面前大发雷霆，拿我问罪。国王明里怒火不悦，内心却宽容于我，给我一个做人与处世的机会。想到这里，青年厨师愧疚万分，动容地哭了。
青年厨师不愿离开国王，他要为国王做一辈子饭菜，侍奉国王一辈子。国王说：”傻孩子，这怎么能行呢，你家里还有父母，二老还盼着抱孙子呢。你现在就去收拾收拾走吧，我派仆役用马车护送你回家。“ 青年厨师受宠若惊，感动得放声大哭。他给国王磕了三个谢恩头，依依不舍地离开了国王。
