左思（约250～305）字太冲齐国临淄（今山东淄博）人，西晋诗人。左思家世儒学，出生寒微。其父左熹，字彦雍，起于小吏，曾任武帝朝殿中侍御史、太原相、弋阳太守等。少时曾学书法鼓琴，皆不成，后来由于父亲的激励，乃发愤勤学。左思貌丑口讷，不好交游，但辞藻壮丽，曾用一年时间写成《齐都赋》（全文已佚，若干佚文散见《水经注》及《太平御览》）。泰始八年（272年）前后，因其妹左棻被选入宫，举家迁居洛阳，曾任秘书郎。元康年间，左思参与当时文人集团“二十四友”之游，并为贾谧讲《汉书》。元康末年，贾谧被诛，左思退居宜春里，专意典籍。后齐王召为记室督，他辞疾不就。太安二年（303年），河间王司马颙部将张方进攻洛阳，左思移居冀州，数年后病死。有《左太冲集》。

要说我家乡——泉州，最让人引以为傲的地方，那肯定是被桥梁专家茅以升教授称赞福建桥梁状元的洛阳桥。
洛阳桥位于泉州东北洛阳江上，宋皇佑五年至嘉佑四年，历时六年建成。桥长八百三十四米，宽七米，有桥墩四十六座，全部用巨大石块砌成。远远望去，就像一条安静的白龙，横卧在宽阔的江面上。
然而只要你略微仔细端详，就会发现它的与众不同之处来。洛阳桥因建桥处水潮湍急，工程非常艰巨。为此先民采用了一种独特的建桥方法，即在江底随桥中线铺满大石头，筑起一条水下长堤。然后在石堤上用条石横直垒砌桥墩，形成了船形桥墩，不但颇具特色，而且利于分水。这种技术直到十九世纪欧州人才开始采用。
这还不够，为了巩固桥基，他们还在桥下养殖大量的牡蛎，巧妙地利用其外壳附着力强、繁殖速度快的特点，把桥基和桥墩牢牢胶结成一个整体，这是世界上第一个把生物学应用于桥梁工程的先例。这充分体现了我国古代人民的非凡才智。为了纪念洛阳桥——这一伟大的桥的建造者——蔡襄，桥上还刻有他的雕像云云。
说到蔡襄，妈妈还给我讲了一个关于他建这座桥的传说，请听我娓娓道来。传说从前，江底住着很多妖魔鬼怪。一日，有一巨船过此，江底的龟、蛇掀风起浪，眼看巨船就要翻了，船中旅客吓成一团。突然，空中传来人语：船上有蔡姓贵人，不可作怪。话音刚落，江上风浪骤停，平静如初。事后人们知道，船上果然蔡氏夫人，正有孕在身。这夫人感谢神灵，拜天许愿：儿如长大，必建桥江上，以利行旅。后来这小儿，便是赫赫有名的状元蔡襄。他从小就聪明，当母亲把这事告诉他时，他就默志不望，发誓若有显贵之日，必尝还母亲心愿。这一传说为洛阳桥增添神秘色彩。
啊！古人用智慧和心血缔造起来的特色洛阳桥被赞为状元，真是实至名归！
