制作开始。首先，要制作的是机身，它是连接其它部件的主 干部分。先找来一块3毫米厚的桐木板，再用铅笔在上面勾勒出大致轮廓，然后就可以下刀了。可是在切割的\'时候一定注意手法，千万不要大意。在外形确定之后，还要用木锉和砂纸将表面磨光。严格地说，是应该磨成流线型的。但我们的飞机要求不高，因此，磨光就可以了。
接下来，我们将要制作的是飞机上最重要的部件--机翼。飞机之所以能在蓝天飞翔，靠的是升力。而升力的大小关键取决于机翼的形状与角度。所以，制作的时候更要细心。开始步骤和做机身相同，将外形轮廓确定好。接下来，就要精雕细刻了。要用锉和砂纸将两片机翼细细地打磨成流线形。
下一步就是制作垂直尾翼和水平尾翼了。它们是掌握飞机飞行方向的重要部件，所以在制作的时候要特别注意刻度准确。至于制作方法大体和机身相似。
制作之前，一定要准备好必需的工具和用料。如：刻刀、木锉 、胶水、刻度尺等。最重要的是选好木料。可以做航模的木料很多，但最好用的是桐木。
在最困难的一道工序完成之后，组装就显得微不足道了。当然，还应认真对待。因为在成功的同时往往潜藏失败的可能，一 旦不小心失了手，该有多么痛心呢！组装时，先将尾翼固定在机 尾，然后把机翼固定在机身前1／3的位置上。特别要注意的是，机翼应与水平方向成45度角。至此，组装完毕，一架小巧的飞机便在手中诞生了!
也许，初次制作会遇到一些困难，但不要灰心，因为熟能生巧，只要多加练习，就一定会得心应手的。
待到放飞的日子，看着那轻盈的飞机迎风升起，在碧蓝色的天空里自由翱翔，该是多么令人愉快啊!
