这个时候，地里的野菜钻出地面，先是象一颗颗开在地上的小星星，几天的功夫就能长成杯口般大小。
小的时候放学后，呼朋引伴背着筐、提着蓝去地里挖野菜，因为家里养着兔子、猪、羊，还有鸭子、鹅。
在我们的眼里，野菜是分了等级的。上等的为曲曲菜、次之的为阳沟菜、蒲公英（俗称婆婆丁）、再次之为马齿菜、青青菜，至于消暑苗和独流酸那是排不上等级的。挖野菜的时候，我们当然专门捡等级高的挖，有时为了争到“上等菜”不惜动手动脚，因为等级高的菜不仅鹅、兔子等一系列动物喜欢食，人类也是能吃的。
每当我们把野菜挖回家，扔给饥肠咕噜的鹅、鸭、兔、猪们，他们就会兴奋地吃起来，顾不得抬头，边吃边发出快乐的咀嚼声。羊，是食草动物，当然，菜也是吃的而且似乎很愿吃，但我们舍不得给，只是象征性地给一点，我们把大部分菜都给了只吃菜不吃草的动物们。所以对于羊来说，吃菜是一顿奢侈的美餐，不可多得。
对于人类就不同了。野菜毕竟是野菜，其滋味与真正的菜相比相去甚远，何况当时的配料也是抓襟见肘，或是根本就没有，滋味可想而知，如果有充足的粮食，如果有正儿八经的菜，没人会爱吃野菜的。吃野菜完全是因为粮食奇缺，不至于挨饿的无奈选择。父母在世时，曾跟我们说，“瓜菜代”时期，大姐每天一洋面袋子的青青菜养活一家人的生命。那时，吃的孩子们的肚子都是青的。
但是，现在不同了。现在吃野菜不是无奈之举，而是一种时尚。
过去不能登大雅之堂的`野菜，堂而皇之地上了饭店的餐桌。水灵灵的曲曲菜自不必说，是与豆酱之类作料的最好搭配；阳沟菜长而白的嫩芽调上淀粉、葱花之类，下锅蒸，也是一道不错的“美味”；至于马齿菜，既可凉拌，也是做饺子馅、包子馅的好材料。生活好了，大鱼大肉吃得腻了，吃点野菜换换口味，不失为一种很好的调节。据专家说，适当的吃点野菜对于改善饮食结构有着十分重要的作用。更何况，这样的包子、饺子嚼在嘴里，不仅仅满口弥漫着的香的滋味，还有对过去那段不寻常生活的回味。
春天来了，暖风吹送，带着孩子拎着筐篓，奔向田野挖野菜去。
