一天清晨，牧民把牛从牛圈里驱赶到草地上让牛儿吃草，一家的女主人在准备早餐，挤着牛奶。一旁的小牛在等着吃早餐。在草原上最珍贵的植物叫做口蘑。晒干后，一斤能卖两千多元，何福志是一个口蘑商人，每天去询问口蘑的收成，“物以稀为贵。”口蘑在这种地方，更显得格外珍贵。口蘑是白颜色的，生长在蘑菇圈里面，只要看见有深绿色的草，就会找到口蘑的踪迹。晴朗的天气口蘑也捉起了迷藏，下一场大雨口蘑就会奇迹般地出现。下雨前，草原上的天空，还是晴空万里。没过多久，乌云就像变魔术似的把太阳这边围起来，慢慢的，太阳被天空的乌云遮住了，只剩下仅存的一点儿亮光，乌云越来越多，太阳渐渐地被笼罩，原来绿色的草地变成了黑色的草地，因为没有太阳，所以天空灰蒙蒙的一片。轰隆隆的声音传来，此起彼伏地响起，雷电交加，狂风大作。不久，便是倾盆大雨，一泻千里。雨过天晴，草原像被洗了一样干净。何福志和他的女儿神采飞扬来蘑菇圈来采蘑菇。采的这些白蘑菇将会运到四百米的张家口。
另一种植物是江南的冬笋，冬笋也被运到张家口这个大城市，这里的厨师把晒***口蘑用热水泡一泡，泡一到两三个小时，麻利地先把泡好的蘑菇下面的脏东西弄掉，再放进干净的清水里搅一搅，搅一千多次，这样里面的脏东西才能清洗干净。冬笋也用热水泡一泡，之后，把口蘑和冬笋一块放进油锅里，接着把之前的口蘑原汤放进去，这样味道才会更鲜美。张家口的人很爱吃这菜。因为口蘑很稀少，所以这道菜很贵。
这道菜是由南方的冬笋和北方的口蘑烩在一块，美其名曰烩。

不一会儿，服务员端上了四笼小笼包。妈妈掀开盖子，顿时香味扑鼻，一股热气扑面而来。我仔细打量小笼包，一个个白生生，皮薄薄的，里面好象有一包汁水在里面，形状和包子差不多，难怪叫小笼包。我这时肚子正饿得咕咕叫，恨不得将嘴巴变大，把四笼小笼包一口吞下去。我急急忙忙地夹起一个小笼包塞进嘴巴里，可是连味道还没尝到，就急忙吐了出来，原来小笼包很烫。妈妈说：“吃小笼包应该先醮点醋，轻轻咬一个洞，把里面鲜美的汤汁吸干，再吃皮和肉。小笼包的美味精华就在汤汁里。我按照妈妈的方法吃，汤汁鲜、皮薄肉嫩，真是好吃极了。果然，四客小笼包一会儿就让我和妈妈吃完了。
