很多时候在琢磨“后进生”这个词语，细细想来不得不佩服中国语言文字的博大精深。用词的准确在于含蓄地给了差生一个称谓。作为一个教育工作者我感到不安和羞愧。且不说加德纳提出的七种智能，就每一个学生而言，他是一个生命，是生命就应该得到应有的尊重和理解。我们非得给他们画上一条线，再打上一个印，末了还起个好听的名字。
“后进生”对应“先进生”是不言而喻的两群人。是什么让他们不同，做教师的都心知肚明就是成绩，就是分数。尽管我们批评了很多年唯和成绩论，而且素质教育的口号喊了一年又一年，但考试依然是考试，分数依然是分数。“语文数学考高分就一定能做一名好厨子?”“语文数学不好就肯定妨碍他成为出色的修理工?”钱钟书的数学不及格，他同班数学好的'，有几个写出了《围城》?上帝让每一个人来到这个世界的时候，每一个人都是不一样的。每个人的面貌、个性、特长、给这个世界的色彩都不一样。但我们每个人恰恰都要和上帝对着干，把每个应该不一样的，培养成一样。我们用标准的大纲、标准的教材、标准的评价、标准考试规范大家，我们不允许不一样，不鼓励不一样。这是我们教育的最大的缺陷。任何一个人，要取得成就，他就必须有特色。
“鹤善舞，牛能耕，老鼠生来就打洞。”我们生活在一个健全的社会，我们需要科学家，也需要负责的送奶工。平等的对待每一个学生，给每人一个发展的空间。尽管这是一份梦想，但我依然坚持。
