It wasn't until we moved into our new home in 2006 that I found it again. It was addressed to me with explicit instructions not to open until my birthday 2005. It was now 2006 so I decided to open it. This is what it said:
Dear Sherri
By the time you read this you will be 30. At the age of 18 I had so many hopes and dreams about where you'd be, what you'd be doing and with whom you'd spend your life with.
Right now I hope that you have traveled and seen everything you've always wanted to, both in Canada and overseas, and maybe even settled down somewhere in Australia doing some research in the field of biology (genetics.
I hope you're married to the man of your dreams. The man of mine is Gwynn. He is originally from South Africa (another place I wish to visit.
You'll probably have two children of your own – a girl(Michaela Anne and a boy (name yet to be decided.
If everything goes according to plan you'll be living in Australia in a big house in a small town outside of a big city with a lot of land, a dog, Gwynn and your two beautiful children. Hopefully you have a career in the medical field, maybe doing research in genetics. Gwynn will be a computer programmer and you will be doing alright for yourselves.
However, if things don't go according to plan for you, I wish you all the love, happiness and joy in the world and don't settle for anything less than the best since that is absolutely what you deserve.

When I read this for the first time since writing it I was floored. Even now having dug this up again another 4 years later I still can't help but think this is really cool.
So much of what I wanted for myself has materialized.
I did travel to a few more places in Canada although I haven't seen everything I'd like to.I did marry the man of my dreams and yes he still is my one and only.I've traveled to the UK, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. I lived in Australia for nearly 4 years in a big house, in a small suburb, in a major city (close enough. I had a career in Biology in the field of genetics for 10 years.I have two lovely kids – both boys (names now decided.
I have not one dog but two dogs. Both yellow labs from Australia.Gwynn is a computer programmer. We are doing okay for ourselves.
After writing this I quickly forgot about what I had put in here actually. The things that materialized were all met with quite a bit of resistance (all internal but I suppose these were things that I really did want. Having never strayed too far from home overseas travel was a huge deal. Having never been away from my family moving to Australia for several years was an incredibly huge decision.
I find it fascinating how the dreams of a young and naive little girl can become a grown woman's reality.
I'm curious if you guys have ever written anything to your future self and how it stacks up to your current reality. If you haven't, will you join me in writing a letter now to yourself in say 10 years from now? It's an interesting little experiment.

“阿帕亚多之战”我是一口气看完的，兴奋得不得了，因为这次他们面对的是一群力量比自己强大太多的“神官”，而且是在别人的地盘上，天时地利人和都不占，想要赢得这场战斗的胜利，比以往任何时候都难。然而，等到这场战斗结束后，发现原来之前的担心是没有必要的，只要始终牢记“万事万物，相生相克”的道理，哪怕作者在开头把敌人搞得再强大，最后总有办法让正义战胜邪恶。呵呵~
首先要记住：最简单的往往是最有效的。
就说路飞和贝拉米的那场战斗吧，开始我还挺担心路飞不能在很短的时间内解决了他，因为对方也是恶魔果实能力者，实战能力也很强。但是等到两人交手之后，我立刻就知道了，贝拉米完全不是路飞的对手，也明白了为什么在酒吧的时候路飞不和他交手了——完全没必要和这种不上档次的垃圾交手，路飞和他根本不是一个档次上的。贝拉米平时对付的都是些小喽啰，而路飞对付的都是些伟大航路上穷凶极恶且能力强大的人。贝拉米的进攻招数尽是些花拳绣腿，他和当初的路飞很像，虽然拥有强大的能力但没有学会怎么使用，让原有的能力发挥出更强大的力量。所以路飞看准时机，对他只出了一拳就结束了这场无聊的战斗——一击毙命，真是太帅了！
下面重点说说与神官们的战斗经验。
路飞vs沙德利
沙德利最大的优势就是能够洞察对方的心理，同时又懂得借助、使用冲击贝的力量，自己根本不用花费、消耗体力。可以说，这场战斗沙德利拥有压倒性的优势。针对这一点，路飞这个幸运的家伙竟然误打误撞地使用了“借力打力”，“借子之矛攻子之盾”的方法，用沙德利自己的火龙攻击沙德利自己，正如《成龙历险记》里小玉用胖子自己的身体当做武器打胖子一样，于是取得了最终的胜利。
如果沙德利拥有抵御自己的球的威力的能力的话，也就不会让路飞胜利了，所以说，不但要拥有***死对方的手段，还要有防御自己武器***伤力的能力，既能进攻，又能防守。不过这一点很难做到，记得《大剑》上的战士在一开始选择成为大剑的时候就要决定是成为战斗型的还是防御型的，这样才能做到专业化，使能力得到最大程度的发挥。
卡拉巴纳vs修拉
他俩的战斗之短真是让人惊讶啊，不过充分说明了一点：所有的人都不是万能的，都有他的缺点。虽然修拉擅长绳之试炼，他和沙德利正好相反，他属于防御型的，一旦对方突破了自己设置的绳线，如果对方能力强大的话，他就驾驭不住了。所以才会被卡拉巴纳一下子就***死了。
乔巴vs盖达兹
乔巴的胜利一方面归功于他自身的觉悟——“我不能老是逃，我要打败这个家伙”，另一方面归功于他的聪明，善于观察，能够找到对方的`缺陷，再有就是他懂得充分使用自己的能力，通过借助研发的蓝波球来增强自身的能力。说明“只要下了决心，就能取得成功！所有的人都有他的命门，有缺陷存在，只要找到对方的命门，就能打败对方。面对强大的敌人，不要害怕，要沉着应对，仔细观察，借助自身的优势打败对方。”
有一点需要记住：打不过就跑，打得过能不打的话也跑，节省力量。
罗宾vs胖子大臣
罗宾对于历史的执着和沉迷是我一开始的时候无法理解的，但是听了罗宾说了那句话之后，我就理解了——“历史虽然会重演，但人不会回到过去。”历史遗址能够重现过去的文明，让人了解到过去的生活、文明。当你站在一个地方，想象着xx多年前脚下这片土地上曾经的繁华时，是一件多么奇妙、让人热烈盈眶的事情啊。
不过罗宾的胆子也真是太大了，竟然敢一个人到一片荒凉的、充满未知的危险的地方去。后来我明白了：胆子大是因为对自己的能力有充分的自信！知道自己能够解决所面临的各种问题。和胖子神官的战斗就充分显示了罗宾的自信和能力。
卓洛vs拉姆
卓洛的这场战斗充分说明了这一点：平时要多琢磨，多练习，实战时才不会被打倒。他如果先前没有琢磨出“百人烦恼风”这一招，就没法在关键时刻打败拉姆，赢得胜利。可见“居安思危”的重要性。另外卓洛的个人魅力又一次震撼了我——既冷静又理智，战斗当做是提升自己能力的机会，不被感情冲昏头脑。当拉姆说让卓洛抱着为同伴复仇的感情和他作战时，卓洛说“我才不会为这种理由战斗呢”的表情，真是太酷了！而那句“我有点燃烧起来了”的话，让人太崇拜他了！卓洛，一个酷毙了的剑士！
路飞vs神·艾尼路
作为神，艾尼路简直就是个可怕的梦靥，他通过心网（心网——听的能力。通过听声音与之对方下一步的行动。一旦被扰乱就失去它的作用了。）能够监测、掌握、预见一切天使岛上发生的事情，然后借助可以控制使用的东西来对那些违抗自己命令的人进行惩罚，从而造成人们对于神的恐惧心理。他最厉害的一点就是懂得心理学，命令人们一旦发现身边有犯罪的人就积极检举，否则就会被认定为包庇罪，自己也会受到牵连，而对罪犯的严惩反过来又告诫人们不要犯罪，不要违抗神的命令，从而形成了一个对神言听计从的“和谐”的社会。
乍看起来，艾尼路作为“自然系”恶魔果实能力者中的“雷”，简直无人能敌，打又打不过，***也***不死，真的就是神了。而他的那句“在压倒性的力量面前，所能体会的只有绝望。当一切希望都破灭时，就等于死了。”让人听了真是不寒而栗，但细细一想，又觉得很有道理。所以，一定要时时充满希望，同时要努力让自己变得强大起来，只要自己不放弃，就没有人可以打败你！
但是，没有想到，作为橡皮人，路飞竟然是艾尼路在这个世界上唯一的天敌！可见，万事万物都有它相克的东西，哪怕它再厉害，也总有能够对付、制住它的东西存在。人说“但凡毒蛇出没的地方，七步之内，必有解毒的草药。”就是这个道理。但是，也并不是是个橡皮人就能战胜艾尼路的，这个人除了不导电之外，还必须拥有强大的足够打倒艾尼路的力量，而这一点，恰好路飞也具备了。倘若只是不怕导电，凭借艾尼路那么聪明的脑袋和强大的能力，恐怕也是打败不了他的，幸而路飞这个家伙通过这一路的磨练，脑子变得聪明了。但是最后还是让路飞凭借的是“决心”打败了艾尼路。貌似路飞每次战胜一个特别强大的对手都是受了什么刺激之后激发了他强烈的要打倒对方的决心才取得胜利的，不像卓洛，在打败敌人之后还能受启发研究出新的招数。唉，说实话，对路飞有点失望了，招数就是挥起拳头痛扁对方，直至把对方揍得鼻青脸肿再也爬不起来，然后大家皆大欢喜地宣布胜利。
不过在战斗结束后，路飞这个头脑里从来只有肉的家伙竟然能够想到去找黄金，着实是个不小的进步。不过我想激励他找黄金的还是想要吃肉，因为娜美说钱都花在他的餐饮费上了，已经没钱买肉了，所以这个家伙才会惦记着找黄金好买肉吃。呵呵~
另外乔巴这个家伙，虽然胆子很小，但是和大家分开后能够先想着去找黄金而不是先和大家会合，也是个很大的进步。因为他们四个人的任务就是去找黄金然后带到船上去，虽然分开了，但是任务还是要完成的。不过等到遇到危险时，乔巴的胆小又暴露出来了“刚才太大意了，只想着找黄金，应该离开这个地方的，这下死定了。”呵呵~还有那次在活祭坛上，看到娜美他们回来的时候，哭的满脸都是泪，一边哭还一边说“我一点也不害怕，我很勇敢。”真是乐死人了，这也是我喜欢日本动画片的地方——搞笑手法向来如此幽默。
总之，阿帕亚多一战让我明白了很重要的一点：即使看起来再强大的人，也是可以战胜的。所有的人都有缺点，只要能够找到对方的缺点，利用自己的优势攻其弱势，就能取得胜利。只要自己不放弃，就没有人可以打败你；只要你坚信可以打败对方，那么你就真的能打败对方。没有人是不可战胜的，一切皆有可能！
