小时候，我就听说过红旗渠的故事，看过《红旗渠》电影记录片，唱过《红旗渠》的电影主题歌——《定叫山河换新装》，今日我们将在分局领导的带领下去领会那条“幸福之渠”的丰富内涵，倾听几十年前艰苦岁月的动人故事。
河南省林县山多地少，石厚土薄，凿井无泉，引水无源，自然条件十分恶劣。1960年，以杨贵、李贵“二贵”为首的县委县政府领导班子提出“用林县人民勤劳的双手，重新安排林县河山”的誓言，他们决定在太行山开凿一条引水渠，从山西省平顺县把漳河水引入林县，并给这条渠取名为“红旗渠”。
红旗渠的施工期正值三年自然灾害时期和“文革”的迷乱时期，修渠工程浩大，施工环境恶劣，技术装备简陋，资金和物资短缺，民工每天只有6两粮食掺和着野菜充饥。20万林县民工克服种种困难在太行山上劈山开石，架起157个渡槽，打通211个隧道，终于修成宽8米，高6米，全长71公里的总干渠，林县人民依靠自己的力量创造了这个奇迹，就算以今天的眼光来看，也堪称为人力、人智、人气的绝笔。不要说在当时那样的条件，就以现在的科技水平，也是相当因难的。红旗渠蜿蜒于太行山区崇山峻岭之中的悬崖峭壁上，如同“人工天河”纵贯林县全境。它的建成，结束了林县“水贵如油”的历史，大大改变了林县人民的生产和生活条件，还创造了闻名中外的一大观景。

红旗渠英语小作文【五】
我和父母来到了河南安阳的林州市，在这里我亲眼见到了被世人称为“人工天河”，在国际上被誉为“世界第八奇迹”的红旗渠，它让我感触很深。
那天一大早，我们就乘车来到了“红旗渠分水苑”，进入大门，我一眼就看见了红旗渠的一干渠和二干渠从总干渠上分流开来，像两支声势浩大的马队朝两个方向奔驰而去。在这里我看到红旗渠渠道深约5米宽约8米，单从这两个数字来看，我并不觉得这项工程足以闻名天下。
再往前走，我们来到了“红旗渠纪念馆”。踏进馆内，首先映入眼帘的是江***为红旗渠题的字：“发扬自力更生艰苦创业的红旗渠精神”。看完这句话，我想：连***都为这条渠题字，看来红旗渠还真是有些与众不同。在馆内我真真正正地了解到了红旗渠工程的宏伟。
红旗渠工程于1960年2月动工，历时近十年，至1969年7月所有干渠支渠工程全面完成。它以漳河水为源，在山西省境内的平顺县设坝截流，将漳河水引入林县。当时，每人每天只能吃到3两粮食是家常便饭，而且施工设备并不十分先进，人们就用镐在这样极其艰苦的条件下施工，劈开太行山，让漳河水穿山而来。林县人民克服重重困难，奋战于太行山的悬崖峭壁之上，险滩峡谷之中，逢山凿洞，遇沟架桥，愣是削平了1250座山头，架设了151座渡槽，开凿了211个隧洞，修建各种建筑物共12408座，挖砌土石达2225万立方米。如把这些土石垒筑成高2米，宽3米的墙，可纵贯祖国南北，把广州与哈尔滨连接起来。了解了这些，我也就了解了红旗渠闻名天下的原因，我也被红旗渠精神所深深地感染了，在我看来红旗渠是中国的又一个“长城”。
十九世纪七十年代***总理曾自豪地告诉国际友人： “新中国有两大奇迹，一个是南京长江大桥，一个是林县红渠。”
走出“红旗渠分水苑”，我不停地想，不停地对自己说：这就是中国的红旗渠，我了解了它的修建过程，中华民族拥有着自力更生、艰苦创业、团结协作、无私奉献的精神，你见过这样的民族吗？
