人与人之间是存在差距的，不论是与生俱来，还是后天发展。
人类差距的形成原因主要源于天生发育与后天培养。而因后天培养而形成的差距又主要是由其所处社会环境所导致。古语道：富贵不能淫，贫贱不能移。“意思是即使人身处富裕也不能好奢好淫，就算人所处极贫也不能屈从命运，改变初心。这是孟子告诫世人的诤言，由此可见，身处富贵的人极易淫奢，而身处贫穷的人常屈从于命。这即是由社会环境所引起的人类差距。
有这么一个故事：一群生物学家围坐在一起讨论”大黄蜂是如何飞起来“的问题，百思不得其解，最后一位工人路过，得知他们的纠结后却只觉得好笑，答道：”这个问题很简单啊，大黄蜂要想活下去，就得起飞。“故事中的工人是显而易见的答非所问。由于长期处于”为生存而不得不起飞“的环境及状态下，工人的思想渐渐发生改变。研究者提出的问题明明是”怎样起飞“，而工人却简行其道，答的.是”为何而飞“。这种不假思索的回答正是由其所处环境潜移默化改变思想而形成。外界环境所拉开的人与人之间的距离，使得工人被称”工人“，而动物学家被称”动物学家“。
如果说由于地理隔离而产生人类差距是最广泛存在的被动形成式，那么其相对的主动形成式一定就当属由”上帝决定“的天生差距了。
天生差距即是指人一生下来就存在的差距，由于其具有不可避免性，所以常常导致后天差距的产生。有人出生健全就定会有人天生残障，有人天赋异禀就定会有人一窍不通。人们常常抱怨世界不公其实有一部分原因还是来自于他们自身的天生差距。而导致产生天生差距的内在原因又是什么呢？自然地，即是人类基因结构与组成的不同。
人类差距丰富多样，在每个人的人生道路中充当硬性条件。差距的存在，是全世界乃至全宇宙都不得不公认的事实与真理。

He and I are both thirteen years old. but I am older than he, and I am fatter than he too. He is shorter than I, and he is thinner than I. He wears a pair of glasses but I don't.
