今天，到酒店吃饭，一进门就看到玻璃窗里摆着一块白色的东西，我问爸爸那是什么？爸爸说是白鲨鳍，也就是大鲨鱼的翅。一提起鲨鱼，我就想到鱼肝油和宴席上的鱼翅汤，还有电影里的大白鲨，要不就是被吃的形象，要不就是吃人的形象。可爸爸告诉我，鲨鱼在不久将来就会从海洋深处消失，很可能会成为因为人类因素而第一个绝迹的海洋生物。为什么鲨鱼会第一个绝迹呢？因为每年人类***掉的鲨鱼数量高达550万只，而真正数量可能还不止这么多。在我们国家，吃鱼翅代表着财富和尊贵，随着人们收入的增加，人们对鱼翅的需求也越来越多，对捕鱼的人来说也是一笔很大的收入。可是，让人难过的是，渔船捕捉到鲨鱼后，因为鲨鱼很大，占据了船舱，而且吃鲨鱼肉的人很少，所以船员只把鱼翅割下来，就把剩下的鲨鱼放回海里，没有鱼翅的鲨鱼不久就死掉了。
另一个严重的问题是，鲨鱼成熟晚，生小鲨鱼的数量少，而且成长速度慢，大约十年才能长成一条成年的鲨鱼。好不容易长大的鲨鱼，却因为鱼翅而失去了性命，所以鲨鱼越来越少了。那，没有鲨鱼有什么问题呢？爸爸告诉我，大自然的生物链是一个紧密相连的系统，如果我们从生物链的一个环里取出一个物种，其他海洋生物就都跟着灭绝了，所以现在很多国家的动物保护学家都提出要保护鲨鱼。保护鲨鱼是一个很新的概念，它不像保护海豚和保护鲸鱼那么容易被人接受，因为人们都认为鲨鱼很大，很凶恶，很喜欢吃比它小的动物，喜欢吃人。事实上，大多数的鲨鱼，很少超过两米，而且，最大的鲨鱼――鲸鲨主要吃虾蟹。
了解了这些信息，下次再看见桌上的鱼翅，我们是不是该好好重新考虑一下，有没有必要为了一时想吃鱼翅，让一个珍贵的物种从地球上消失呢？
