走进珠玑古巷，映入眼帘的便是一排排整齐的古式古乡的祠堂。这些祠堂都是后来新修筑的，每一间祠堂的外观都如此宏伟，祠堂里的'每一跟柱子，每一块砖石都洋溢着一种悠久的气息，让人又想起了以往的事情。
我们间一间地寻找自己姓氏的祠堂，好不容易找到了“梁氏祠堂”，进到里面却异常简陋，只有一个神台和一幅祖先的画像，让我们百思不得其解。随后，我们装上了香，烧了鞭炮，祈求平安健康。
接着，我们走进了已经历上千百年的珠玑古巷，这是一条全长1500多米，宽4米多，用鹅卵石砌成路面的由北向南的古驿道。更为中原和江南通往岭南的唯一一条大道，被称为“岭南第一巷”。前人杨廷桂在《南还日记》中描写珠玑巷情景是“途中行旅如蚁，挤拥甚于观剧。”巷的两侧，都是用黄泥砖头砌成的房屋，有的更是以前的祠堂，如果不仔细看，还不知道那是一个姓氏的祠堂呢！接着向南走，便会发现一个院子，这个是“陈氏祠堂”，建筑非常雍容，好像是古代富裕人家的建筑一样。再接着走，便有是一个院子，这是“何家祠堂”，足与“陈家祠堂”的建筑媲美。
