家乡的小镇几乎被水环绕了。鉴江、袂花江、小东江经历了旅途跋涉在此交汇，常常给小河两边各注入一半清绿，一半黄浊。传说清绿那边的水喝了能使人皮肤出脱得白嫩嫩的。或因了这，皮肤白晳的女孩总被人称为“梅菉姑姐”。
儿时的记忆中，小河交汇处常常露出一大片沙渚。夏日，这里是我们的世界，划水时，它既是约定的终点，又是俗成的裁判。游泳之余，或趴在沙滩上堆砌沙雕城堡，或分成两队人马，一个骑着另一个的肩脖上，而后拨水啦，撒沙啦之类混战一场；偶尔一艘汽船驶过，那精心制作的沙雕便被激浪冲刷成废墟然后慢慢变成了坦岸。汛期，沙渚淹没了，排山倒海般的洪流从上游汹涌而来，数十米的小河道倾刻间成了一片汪洋。沿河的街坊纷纷把家什搬到阁楼上去，大人们整日为三餐操劳而愁眉苦脸，小顽童却把门板卸拆下来当做小舟，尽情地享受着水浸街的快乐时光…… 岁月易逝。当孩提的记忆逐渐模糊后，却有游泳的爱好依然伴着成长的脚步一直前行。那次，学校组织大家到海岛上实习，翌日早上，在同学们坐着渔船出海去跷首以待时，我因贪恋海中的晨游，以致白白错过了观看海上日出的机会。又一回，我们几个人结伴到湖光岩看国家滑水集训队的表演，由于忘记了那日是禁止下湖游泳的，因而被人家灰溜溜的赶了上岸来。我想，与其说是湖海风光使人忘乎所以，莫如说是游泳于我有一种无法抗拒的诱惑。 但是，真正能给我满尽游泳雅兴的地方还是家乡的小河。夏日自不必说。入冬以后，那景况是完全不同的。冬天的流水挟着上游或千百条山溪的水脉，给小河注入清绿色的泓平，这清绿色中积聚着一团团的寒气，使人顿觉到毛骨耸然和牙齿打颤。然而此刻，正好是冬泳的大好时机。冬泳不同于夏游，入水前，首先得活动活动身体，比如体操、俯卧撑、立跪姿之类，然后，习惯地用水擦拭额头或身体。即使这样，头一个猛子扎下去，全身骤然间还是象麻木了一般，只等一阵下意识般划水动作以后，感觉才慢慢恢复过来，待游上二三十米，身体渐渐发热了，这时你就会体味到一种妙不可言的爽快。当游兴达到最佳时，爬将上岸擦干身子穿上衣服，这爽快的延续即如喝了烈酒一般遍及全身。那一刻，生命的蓬勃，青春的烈，你就要感激起大自然的慷慨了。
随着时间推移，渐渐地对小河的情结又有了别样。有一个冬日，我一气向河西游去，或许是隋性在作祟吧，在将游到河西时，感觉上已没有了往日的爽快、热烈和蓬勃。站在浅浅的河滩里，惰性和寒冷促使我想搭上一只小船渡回去。细看附近的小船，原来都是掏沙人的船。只见他们手中舞弄着一只特制的大竹箕，一会儿潜入水中，一会儿浮出水面，然后捧起满满一箕的河沙倒入船舱里。船尾舱灶里有些柴火，我爬上去拨火取暖，一边看着掏沙人的作业。掏沙人，赤裸着上半身，在寒冬里，潜、浮、干、湿，当赤红赤红的皮肤被江风一吹，旋即变得油亮黝黑，稍不经意被指甲一划，便清晰地露出白白的线条儿……直面掏沙人，冬泳、寒意、惰性又算得了什么？最终我还是坚持游了回来。
……
青春的脚步渐行渐远了，如今，当我再次站在小河边时，这里早已没有了往昔的景象，代之而来的是连成一片的江心岛。经历了多年的开发，这江心岛已变成为一处乐园，同德新城隔江相望，一桥通衢横亘河上，人们可在乐园里享受着晨曦的沐浴和晚霞的夕照。这里有规模宏大的体育场馆，有集消遣休闲于一体的娱乐中心，有高档消费的宾馆酒店，有四季芬芳的花卉苗圃……儿时的沙渚，青春的冬泳，一日三餐的苦恼，水浸街的疯玩，掏沙人的黝黑身影，一切一切都消失在悠悠的岁月中……
在我生命的记忆里，家乡有一条没有冬天的小河。

Next year, I hope that I will be able to enroll in your college. I began to take a special interest in history when I was a primary school student. I can still remember the historical stories my teachers told in class, so I was wondering if I should continue to study in your college. However, several days age, one of my friends told me that computer science is more popular nowadays.
As a matter of fact, many jobs need IT skills. I was advised that it’s more important to find a job than merely to satisfy personal interest. 冬天时的小河十分美丽。河面结了一层厚厚的冰，旁的树林上，落满了蓬松松的雪花。远远看去，就像洁白的天鹅绒上铺过了一条银白色的玻璃带。冬天的小河还给我们带来了欢乐。小时候，我和小伙伴就一齐去小河里凿冰、拣冰，时不时的揉一团雪球向小伙伴投去。有时，我们还去捡田螺，冬天时，田螺都贴在岩石上冬眠，偶尔拣到了一个小贝，都会高兴地又蹦又跳。我们也经常去钓鱼，如果钓到了一条鱼，便会手拿着银闪闪的鱼，得意洋洋地对小伙伴说：“看，我又到了一条，厉害吧！”
