Thank you for offering me education and teaching me how to be a man. You always inspire me not by words， but by what you have done! Thank you for always appreciating my work， no matter how tiny it is! You have made me realize that its capacity not scores that really counts.

而为奴十二载也是一个关于黑奴历史的经典影片。主人公Solomon Northup本是一个自由人，以演奏小提琴为生，有一个妻子和两个孩子，生活其乐融融。不料他却被两个白人以马戏团表演伴奏所骗，去了华盛顿，一觉醒来却发现自己成了黑奴。被贩卖给了Ford先生后，过了一段平稳的日子，后来又因为反抗他的一个白人主子无奈只能被买给一个素有“黑奴终结者”的Epps先生，也开始了他漫长的黑暗的12年黑奴生活。他在12年的黑奴经历中，过着炼狱般的生活。他日复一日不眠不休的工作，却还要被主人鞭打，不能表露出自己是个受过教育的自由人，必须低声下气的生活，还要每天为自己的生命忧虑。每天晚上，躺在席子上，睁大眼睛望着这个残酷的世界，想着远在千里之外的家人，心酸无奈的留下眼泪。在此期间，也目睹了更多黑奴的悲剧，种植园主人Epps先生残暴成性，以虐待黑奴鞭打黑奴为乐。
当有黑奴因为承受不住工作的重压倒下时，只是用冷水把他泼醒，如果醒不来，就草草埋掉了事。而黑奴群体中也毫无性别之分。主人生气了，女黑奴也一样扒光衣服用皮鞭抽打至皮开肉绽。男女黑人一样在露天场地洗澡，甚至在在同一个屋檐下睡觉。人性的羞耻感自尊心被无情剥夺。长期的欺压鞭打，黑人们已经变得麻木，甚至是习惯了那种非人般的生活。也许对于黑人来说，自由都没了，肉体也遭受着无与伦比的痛苦，精神上的折磨他们也无力挣扎。当主人公Solomon被白人鞭打，被吊到树上一整天时，几乎没有别的黑人来拯救他，他们都是照常的生活，完全视为无物，不过令人感到安慰的是，还是有一个黑人小姑娘过来喂Solomon喝水，让他不至于饥渴而死。当主人Epps先生欲欺奸Patsey时，她也只是痛苦的留下泪水，不能也不敢反抗。很多个值得深思的场景，都是如此的刻骨铭心。
整部影片充满了压抑，恐惧的气氛。黑人被剥夺人性成为只会工作不会思想的人肉机器，这违反了人权。而影片中贝斯先生帮助所罗门回归自由人的.情节乃是是影片最为激动人心的地方。最后所罗门满含热泪的拥抱，他的妻子。片尾由压抑沉重的音乐切换成轻松闲适的音乐，也让我们知道，世界并不会永恒黑暗，光明也许会迟到但不会缺席。影片中，声嘶力竭的呼号，暴力血腥的压迫，撕心裂肺的情感纠葛，让很多人沉思不已，甚至是泪流满面。而影片中关于种族问题，人权问题以及社会变革等带来的问题也值得我们深思。
愿世界少一点黑暗，多一丝光芒。

平静的湖水会让人内心更觉得平静，宽阔的湖面会让人更觉得心想开阔，淡淡的月光会更让人觉得休闲自在，又怎么会让人产生悲凉之情呢？
与正常人相比，阿炳少了一双健康的眼睛，正是如此，在那样的夜晚，那样的湖边，他才能听见内心的寂寞之声。设想一下，如果他和我们一样视力健康，早就被湖光月色所吸引，还会演奏出那么悲凉，那么凄惨的音乐吗？身体的残疾造就了一代名师。正应证了那句话：“上帝关了你的一扇门，就会为你开另一扇窗。”
有这样一个险恶的`峡谷，谷底河水奔腾，无数行人经过峡谷上的桥时都失足掉进谷底，被水冲走。一天有四个行人来到这里：一个盲人，一个聋子，一个穷人和一个穿金戴银的商人。
他们都上了铁索桥，盲人摸索着过了铁索桥，聋子和穷人也都纷纷到达了对面，那位商人走到一半就体力不支，加上内心的恐惧，掉进了谷底。
与其它人相比，盲人少了一双眼睛，看不见深不见底的危险。聋子少了一对耳朵，听不见河水的咆哮怒吼。穷人少了沉甸甸的金银珠宝，也就多了一些通向彼岸的希望。他们拥有的都比商人少一点，所以他们才可以多一点镇定，多一个生存下去的希望。
霍金全身瘫痪，却为人们创造了一片天空；贝多芬双耳失聪，却让人们听到了心灵的音乐；白血病患者范德维德，在奥运会上夺冠……
生活中我们可能都有天生不如别人的地方，我们不必为此耿耿于怀，而是应该相信“少一点就少一点”，我们在这里失去的，上帝会在另一个地方加倍给我们的。
