可我在游泳时总感到胸口和耳朵有压迫感，特别是刚跳进游泳池的时候感觉最明显。于是我就问爷爷：“这是为什么？”爷爷说：“这是水的压力造成的。水的压力大小与水的深度有关系，水的压力会随着水的深度增加而加大，使人的胸部和耳朵感到有压迫感。”我听了后还是感到不太理解，于是，爷爷做了一个实验：
他拿了一个大的可口可乐塑料瓶，在瓶子的底部、中部和上部分别钻了3个小孔，并用橡皮塞子把三个小孔堵住，他又给瓶子里装满了水，然后分别取掉橡皮塞，这时从三个孔中流出的水显然不一样。从底部流出的水喷射得最远，其次是中部的水，喷得最近的`是从上部喷出的水。这个实验使我明白了：随着水的深度不同，水产生的压力也就不同。我在水中越深，胸口和耳朵感到的压力就越大，水浅了，压力也就小了。
在《游泳与健康》中我又查到：因为水的密度比空气大800余倍，据测定：游泳时人的胸部要受到12?15公斤的压力，加上冷水的刺激，肌肉的紧缩，呼吸就会感到困难，这就迫使人要用力呼吸，加大呼吸深度，这样才能使吸入的氧气量满足机体的需求，这也是游泳者在水中感到呼吸困难的原因。所以经常游泳，可以增大呼吸肌肉的力量，提高呼吸系统的机能。最明显的例子是肺活量的值。游泳运动员的肺活量可以达到4000到6000毫升，甚至7000毫升，而一般的人只有3000到4000毫升。所以，游泳会促使人的呼吸肌肉发达，胸围增大，肺活量增加，而且吸气时肺泡开放更多，换气顺畅，对健康是极为有利的。
疑惑解除了，我对游泳更喜欢了。
