国际青年节
国际青年节(International Youth Day是一个由联合国发起设立的节日。从2000年起，联合国把每年的8月12日定为国际青年节。国际青年节的设立为各国政府重视青年问题提供了契机，各地在国际青年日这一天，会举办演唱会、研讨会、文化活动和会议等各种形式的庆祝活动，通常会有当地的政府官员参加这些活动。

最悠久——委内瑞拉青年节
世界上起源最早的青年节是委内瑞拉的青年节。1814年2月12日，加拉加斯城的大学生和中学生组成了一支起义队伍，同西班牙殖民军展开了激烈的斗争。委内瑞拉独立以后，便将2月12日定为青年节，以此纪念青年学生们英勇无畏的爱国热忱。
最运动——土耳其青年节
1919年5月19日，“土耳其国父”凯末尔将军正式宣布土耳其独立战争开始，***民群起反对欧洲列强对土耳其的侵略。战争胜利结束后，凯末尔将5月19日定为土耳其青年节。而土耳其的青年节又兼体育节，认为青年是国家的未来，而强壮的青年又是建设富强国家的基础。所以每逢这一天，土耳其青年都会不约而同地来到户外，参加各种各样的体育活动。
最有学问——芬兰青年节
每年的4月30日是芬兰的青年节。这一天，芬兰的青年男女都会头戴上学时学校发的白帽子，围坐在一起聊天、唱歌、跳舞，狂欢活动一直持续到第二天黎明。如果你看见谁的白帽子上还留着一条“辫子”，那表明这个人学问不低，至少是硕士毕业;如果你看到有老爷爷、老奶奶也戴着已经发黄的旧帽子自豪地走在大街上，也不要觉得滑稽，这是芬兰人对有学问的长者给予的尊重。
最喜庆——俄罗斯青年节
在俄罗斯，每年6月最后一个星期的星期日是青年节。节日这天，男女青年们会兴高采烈地参加各种庆祝活动。有些地区的青年人会在这一天开展各项义务劳动，打扫环境卫生或者参加植树造林。有些地区举办各种文艺演出和联欢会。此外，利用节日的喜庆气氛举行婚礼也成了深受很多俄罗斯青年追捧的.时尚潮流。
最英勇——印度尼西亚青年节
印度尼西亚的青年节是11月10日，又叫英雄节，这是为了纪念1945年11月10日印尼青年反抗外来侵略者的斗争。当时印尼刚刚宣布独立，英国军队以接受日军投降为借口试图侵占印尼，当他们在泗水登陆时遭到了印尼青年的顽强抵抗。于是，11月10日也被定为“英雄节”，旨在弘扬印尼军民英勇顽强、不畏强敌的斗争精神。
中国青年节
为了使青年继承和发扬五四运动的光荣传统，1939年，陕甘宁边区西北青年救国联合会规定5月4日为中青年节。1949年12月23日，中国人民政府政务院正式规定：5月4日为中国青年节。
按照国务院公布的《全国年节及纪念日放假办法》的规定，“青年节(5月4日，14周岁以上的青年放假半天”，但这一规定没有明确放假适用人群的年龄上限。2008年4月，经国务院法制办同意，“青年节”放假适用人群为14至28周岁的青年，3亿多青年将于每年5月4日放假半天。此次进一步明确年龄上限后，将有3亿多年龄在14至28周岁之间的青年可以依法在青年节这天享受到半天的假期，感受到社会对青年的关爱。
规定：遇公休日不另补半日假根据国务院公布的《全国年节及纪念日放假办法》的规定，由于青年节和3月8日妇女节等节日性质相同，都属于针对部分群体的节日，因此，如果当年5月4日赶上周六、周日的公休日，将不另补假期。团中央有关负责人表示，上午还是下午放假并未作硬性规定，由各单位视情况而定。
青年节上班不享受加班费根据《全国年节及纪念日放假办法》和原劳动保障部《关于部分公民放假有关工资问题的函》规定，妇女节、青年节、儿童节、建军节都属于部分公民放假的节日。属于部分公民放假的节日，按规定用人单位无须支付加班费。只有在全体公民放假的节日，劳动者加班才享受加班费待遇。
“五四运动”是中国近代史上一次彻底的不妥协的反帝反封建运动，它的胜利成为中国新民主主义革命的开端。为继承和发扬“五四运动”的爱国、民主、科学精神，1949年12月，中国中央人民政府政务院正式宣布五月四日为中国青年节。青年节期间，中国各地都要举行丰富多采的纪念活动，青年们还要集中进行各种社会志愿和社会实践活动，还有许多地方在青年节期间举行成人仪式。
