“哥哥，说不定新疆也有游乐园或者是——漂亮的公园呢！”女孩说道。
“嗯，有可能比奶奶那儿更好玩呢！”男孩说道。
爸爸严肃地说：“我们来这儿，不是寻个好玩儿的，而是要来把这个建设的更繁荣。”
可能是爸爸说的.太重了，他马上又变了语气：“你们现在可能还不懂。唉，算了。”
孩子们似懂非懂地点点头，跟爸爸一起去新学校报道。
二十年后，爸爸老了，孩子们也长大了。
“爸爸，新疆的第一座大桥就要建成了。”身为一大桥的设计师，男孩说道。
过了一会儿，女孩来了。
“爸爸，我竞选成功了！”女孩这会儿成了新疆自治区主席。
爸爸喜笑颜开，说道：“孩子们，你们知道了二十年前我说的话了吗？”
“我们知道了！”男孩女孩异口同声。
爸爸欣慰地笑了，笑得很开心。
“爸爸，爷爷，姑姑。”一个稚嫩的声音引起了大家的注意。
原来，这就是男孩的儿子。
“儿子啊，爸爸跟你说，以后你也要像姑姑、爸爸这样去努力去拼搏。成为一个优秀的西部建设者。”
又是二十年……新疆一片繁华：地铁、双层巴士应有尽有；飞机、磁悬浮列车奔驰在高原旁；别墅、高楼大厦鳞次栉比。
这时，当年那个苦口婆心地教育出两个优秀西部建设者的爸爸已经年过花甲……这时他又回忆起那时。
