熊开始努力锻炼自己的力气，其实他天生就是一个大力士。一年练下来，他成了森林里力气最大的熊。
他去拜猴子为师。猴子先是不肯教，熊就天天帮他摘桃子、担水。猴子感动了，于是把攀援绝技全部传授给了熊。
熊又去找猎豹，学会了如同旋风一般的奔跑。
熊还跑到了遥远的地方，专门去找大袋鼠请教，学会了一流的搏击术。
可妈妈说：“还不行呢，你还要学很多知识。”
熊就去了城里。当然，是变成人形去的。这个不需要学，他们这个家族天生就有这个本事。
三天后，他拉了一大板车的书回来了。
在家苦苦读了五年，熊终于把那一车书全看完了。
妈妈的所有难题都难不倒他了。
她欣慰地笑了，说：“儿子，你去吧。”
熊变成人形，去城市里的警察局应聘。
考官是眼镜局长。

熊没办法，就喝了一杯。
眼镜局长命令他再喝一杯。
熊喝了第二杯。
按照眼镜局长的命令喝完第十八杯时，熊彻底醉了。他恢复了自己大灰熊的模样，打着很响的呼噜，睡倒在地上。
眼镜局长笑了，说：“来人!”
