i am writing to you to express my thanks for your help in learning english and speaking english.
during these days in your class, i have learned much from you and it is very helpful to me. firstly, you let me know what is the west thinking pattern—straight thinking pattern. and, i think, it is very important to understand the west’s thoughts. as you know, this can help me with my examination and interaction with foreigners. secondly, i have got enough confidence in speaking in english from your class and it took me a long time to gain this confidence. now, i always express my ideas in english as possible as i can. it’s great to do that. the last not the least, i find that learning english is not an boring thing as before and i’m interested in studying english which was just a necessary task to pass examinations. reading, listening or speaking all become interesting and i really enjoy it.

我初中三年级的时候，教我数学的老师姓温，也是我们的班主任，戴副眼镜，初初一看，是非常温文尔雅的样子。
但是他却很严历，是我学生时代里遇见的最严历的老师之一，当时他已经是三十多岁了，然而还没有结婚，在那个时代，在我们那小县城是很少见的。也许正是因为没有结婚的缘故吧！他将所有的热情都放到了教书当中，那时候，经常是结束晚自习后，他还要将我们留下来补课，一个也不许缺席，他总是认为我们的数学成绩还太差，尽管我们班的数学成绩常常是全年级第一。
但是，他讲课时，我们还是很爱听，因为他总是能将原本是枯燥无味的数学课也讲得异常生动，经常还有些诗意的发挥。然而，他又不象我们看到的一些影视作品中的老师一样前卫和宽容，他总会布置些题海让我们去不懈战斗。每天没完没了地解题对我们而言真是一种痛苦。所以，每当我们全班取得了好成绩而趁他这一时期心情很好时，私下里，我们便会戏言，劝他何必这么辛苦呢！还是尽快找个女朋友好好恋爱一场算了，我们总是疑心他如此异常的勤奋是因为他还没有女朋友的缘故。
他听罢，总是恶狠狠地瞪我们一眼然后说，你们这些小鬼，成绩还这么差，我怎么会有心情！末了，他便冷笑，明天星期天，集体补课！就这样，我们一次一次的假期都被他无情地剥夺掉了！有一时期，我们对他真是有些“深恶痛绝”！然而他强调得最多的一句话便是，你们不要烦解题，你们要从解题中找寻乐趣，你们仇恨我，不如仇恨这些题目，你们要将这些题目当成你们的敌人，然后彻底消灭他们！碰到这样的老师，你有什么办法呢？

我的老师何平坤，离开我们一年多了，她是让我最怀念的人。记得还在我读学前班的时候，在我们眼里简直是个庞然大物，我们都怕她，不敢在您的身边说一句粗话，但是有一次，她我我改变了对她的看法，那一次，我们要打预防针，当我看到那尖尖的针头刺进同伴的手上，再灌进一筒药水后，鸡皮旮瘩，就在我身上紧急集合了，它们排成队伍占据了我身体的各个部位，我心里跳得扑扑直响，这时候我忍不住哭了，再也不想打针了，因为我太怕痛了。那时正是五月份的时候，杨梅成熟的季节，您就拿起杨梅来鼓励我们打针，说：“谁打了针就有杨梅吃。”望着红艳艳的杨梅，我直咽口水，我就鼓起勇气打了针，还真的吃到了杨梅，这就是我到的，您对我们的关心。
还有一次，在我读三年级的时候，您要求我们做家庭作业，我打弹子去了。没有完成作业，第二天我来到学校上数学课的时候，您检查作业了，查到我这里，发现没有做好，您就不客气了，把我带到讲台上问：“在家干什么去了?”我灵机一动就撒谎说：“去给妈妈收谷子去了。”但您一眼就看出了我骗了您，语气更加严肃了，后来我只好说了实话，您听我说了实话后，就教育我：“在家不要不做家庭作业。更不要撒谎。”当时的我不懂事的很恨您，到了读四年级的时候，我渐渐的懂事了，才知道您是为了我好，现在的我更后悔了，当时真不该那么恨您。
但不久就听说您为了教书，身体都不顾，您患了肝癌住进了医院，我当时听了，很想约几个同学去看望您，但在我们刚准备去看您的那个星期六，就听表弟说：“您去医院抢救没抢救到，已经去世了。”当时我听了忍不住就流下了眼泪。我是多么的怀念您的教诲啊!
最后，请您放心，您的学生我，一定会好好读书，将来有机会当老师的话，也象您一样当个好老师，祝您在天堂好好的安息，保重!
