these young people are wrong. in my opinion every student should have a knowledge of housework. after all, they will have a family of their own, and they should do their part in keeping a good home. boys should also learn to do housework, for what will they do if they remain single? though not all boys remain single,yet they will be very helpful in the family if they know some housework. anyhow they will not lose anything, but, on the contrary, they will gain something useful.
for what i said above, we can find some eamples of our fellow-students studying abroad. all young men do housework as girls do. someone would argue that we can employ servants. this is true.however, what shall we do if the servant leaves us and all things are left to ourselves? we just cannot leave our clothes as they are and let worms and ants eat them up. and what can we do it we go and study in a foreign country where servants are out our means to employ? we must work for ourselves. why not start to learn to do housework now or else it will be too late? everyone should learn to do housework. what do you think about my idea, boys and girls?

最近，我读了《心灵鸡汤》这本书。《心灵鸡汤》是一本讲述生活中的哲学、道理的书，它以“自信、自强、信念、坚强、爱心、善良、友情、勤奋、勇气、忍耐、宽容、谦虚、信任、惜时……”等优秀品质为主要内容，写了211个哲理故事，每一篇短短的文章都讲述着一个做人的道理，使我深受启发。
给我印象最深的一篇是《一道数学难题》。这个故事是关于高斯的，说的是高斯在读大学时解开了一道有着2000多年悬案的难题，这道题连阿基米德和牛顿等数学家一辈子都没有解出，而高斯只用了一个晚上就解出了。其实，这道题是高斯的老师在做不出题时不小心夹到了高斯的作业本里的，高斯误认为是老师布置的作业，于是花了整整一个晚上的时间解了出来。当老师告诉他真相时他大吃一惊，说要是知道这是一道2000多年悬案的话，他可能就解不出来了。是呀，“无知者无畏”，有时侯不知道困难的程度往往能做得更好。当我们在做题时，如果有人说是很简单的一道题，我们或许很快就会做出来，而且对答案很自信；如果有人说这道题连数学家都做不出，那么即便我们做出了也会怀疑自己的答案是否正确。其实，这都是我们的心理在作怪。当别人说简单时，我们的好强会被激发，因为谁都不愿意连简单的题目都做不出。而当别人说连数学家都做不出，我们不如数学家，就会想：数学家都做不出，难道我还做得出吗？那么用不了多久我们就会放弃，不再去努力了。这就是畏难心理，我们把困难想得太大了，被困难吓倒了。这个故事告诉我们：做事情的时候不要去想困难，尽自己的努力，或许就会创造奇迹。
高斯能做出这道题还有一个原因，就是他坚持不懈。这使我想起了我自己的经历，有一回，我在做数学题时，看了一遍题目之后，觉得太难，没怎么想就放弃了，妈妈告诉我只要试几个数就可以做出来了，我试了试果然做出来了，这就是我不肯坚持的缘故。其实，只要坚持不懈，很多不可能的事情都会变为可能的。记得我三年级时对跳绳的“花跳”一窍不通，可是因为班里没人参加“花跳”比赛，老师就叫我参加，我只能硬着头皮答应了。为了不在赛场上出丑，我回家拼命练习，但是因为离比赛的时间太短，不可能一下子提高很多，比赛时的成绩的确不怎么样。这件事刺激了我，于是从那以后我每天坚持跳绳。这样练习了一年，我的成绩大有进步。第二年，老师又叫我参加“花跳”比赛，这次我可不怕了。果然，我取得了好成绩，老师也表扬了我，这就是坚持不懈的结果。
《心灵鸡汤》这本书还有很多这样的小故事，这本书不仅使我增长了知识，而且告诉了我许多哲学道理，教给我怎样面对生活、珍爱生命以及做人的精神品格。

One day, Paula and Richard decided to make a kite.
First they went out and found two straight sticks of the same length. They brought them back home and tied them with a piece of string into the shape of a cross. Then they took some string and used it to tie the four ends of the sticks together. Then, they spread some brightly coloured paper over the frame and glued it around the string.They stuck a tail made of paper to one of the corners, and tied a long string to the centre of the kite.
On the next windy day, they took the kite to a hill near their house and flew it.
