节日的早晨，维吾尔人沐浴全身(大净，然后盛装到清真寺参加聚礼。聚礼之后，人们回家的第一件事就是***牲。至于是宰牛***羊宰驼宰马，由各家经济实力决定。通常人们把献祭的牲畜宰好，大块连骨肉炖到锅里后，男子们才开始互相串门。拜贺节日。妇女们则留在家里摆上节日食品，烧茶备水，准备迎接客人。
节日第一天，先给发生过丧葬和家难的乡亲拜节，表示慰问;其是给夫妻双方的长辈拜节;再次，给邻居和长者拜节。在礼节性拜节活动中，除了给夫妻双方老人拜节是夫妻同去外，其他拜节活动往往三五成群，男女分开进行。之后，才是同辈亲朋好友之间的拜节。大家除了互相道贺，彼此问候之外，还要共餐痛饮，吹拉弹唱一起娱乐。维吾尔民间拜节是维吾尔人增强社会联系，严守礼尚往来这一准则的重要组成部分。
