什么才是最好的教育？本书赵国忠认为“最好的教育”是“无为教育”：它不为感知，却又深深影响人心灵的教育。同时认为，教育的首要任务是教会学生怎样做人。这与卢梭在其名著《爱弥儿》中道：“最好的教育就是无所作为的教育！学生看不到教育的发生，却实实在在地影响人的心灵，帮助人发挥了潜能，这才是天底下最好的教育。”的观点是一致的。我也非常赞同这一观点。那什么是“无为教育”？“无为教育”实际上追求的是种无痕教育、适机教育，重视受教育者对教育内容、方式的认同度和接受度，重视教育本身对人的生存、发展、再学习的持久强烈的影响。是一种以学生的自我教育为主、教师的间接教育为辅的教育。
如何做到“无为教育”？笔者认为，在教学过程中要遵循学生身心发展规律和教育规律，隐蔽教育意图，以教育情境的熏陶、教育技能的感染、教师自身的示范等为间接教育手段，潜移默化，摒弃单调、枯燥的说教，充分信任学生，因势利导，使学生在没有直接冲突式的说教中自觉接受教育，在获得的亲身体验中领悟道理，在以自身为主体的自我教育中达到精神的升华和认识的飞跃。可以从以下几个方面入手：
