刚抵御过德国的苏联，有过这么一个事件：在斯大林晚年的时候，一部专门用于歌颂他丰功伟绩的“真实”的歌剧在苏联的一个小城上演，小城人倾城奔向歌剧院，去看这部演出，到场的有老人，也有孩子。在剧中结束后，幕布拉上，观众起身喝彩。大家拼命鼓掌，谁都知道，有特务看着呢，人人都望着演员快些上台谢幕，好能快些坐下来，离开剧院。
可是不知是为何，演员们却一直没有来谢幕，于是站在观众席上的观众一个个就顿在那儿，不断地鼓着掌，十分钟过去了，二十分钟过去了，观众们就这样鼓着，老人的.双腿开始打战，年轻人面色惨白，孩子们也瞪大了眼睛，站在座位前，手平举着，大家不断坚持，谁都不愿率先停止，小城是一座空城，只有剧院里在一直发出着声音。
鼓掌的声音震耳欲聋，所有的人都在鼓掌，他们是在向编剧的创意致谢？还是在向歌剧的精妙绝伦，演员的无双演技敬礼？又或是自己内心之中对于这部歌剧的赞美？我想都不是，鼓掌的各位绝不会因为这些理由，有些个可能甚至还在恶心，可是他们都鼓掌了，鼓了那么长时间，他们只是屈从于一种力量，当时的“对国家忠诚”、“对领袖忠诚”。
在如今社会，仍然不乏这种鼓掌。在一家国内大公司和小公司的交流签约会上，大公司的经理为小公司员工现场助兴，歌声非常“悦耳”，令人印象深刻。在结束了之后，大家大声鼓掌，共同称赞公司经理的好嗓音。因为大家谁都知道，如果这次会面顺利，自己的公司将会得到一笔大订单。谁都不愿放弃。
在这里，我们又因为另一种力量而鼓掌，如此“悦耳”的歌声，竟也能获得如此称赞，又是在为了什么？
我们为了钱，为了权，还有的人为了面子。鼓掌早已变了味儿，再也不是那种内心态度了。我们为什么要鼓掌？一个人在该鼓掌的时候就要鼓掌，不该鼓掌的时候就不要鼓掌。

But in every country it seems that people care a great deal about earning a living, and working hard is respected.
Showing people having fun together is always an important part of any movies, no matter what country it comes from. People everywhere want to be entertained, and want to spend time with their families and friends. Different cultures sometimes enjoy different activities, but all cultures enjoy some form of sports, music and dancing.
The movies I’ve seen make it clear to me that no matter the cultural differences between countries, people everywhere have the same basic needs and goals.
