Founder of Labor Day
More than 100 years after the first Labor Day observance， there is still some doubt as to who first proposed the holiday for workers.
Some records show that Peter J. McGuire， general secretary of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners and a cofounder of the American Federation of Labor， was first in suggesting a day to honor those "who from rude nature have delved and carved all the grandeur we behold."
But Peter McGuire"s place in Labor Day history has not gone unchallenged. Many believe that Matthew Maguire， a machinist， not Peter McGuire， founded the holiday. Recent research seems to support the contention that Matthew Maguire， later the secretary of Local 344 of the International Association of Machinists in Paterson， N.J， proposed the holiday in 1882 while serving as secretary of the Central Labor Union in New York. What is clear is that the Central Labor Union adopted a Labor Day proposal and appointed a committee to plan a demonstration and picnic.

今年的五一节，我们全家都出动了，一起坐车去中山公园玩。
一进门，很多葱葱郁郁的树都映入我的眼帘，数都数不清，多么像天上的星星呀！其中有一棵非常非常大的树，我很好奇就仔仔细细地打量了一下这一棵树，然后一本正经地说：“妈妈我知道这一棵树叫什么名字。”妈妈说“那好你说一说这么大的树它叫什么名字。”我脱口而出，“爬狮子”。妈妈笑了笑说“对，是爬狮子。”
我们一边说一边笑，很快就来到了桥上面，桥上面很美，一望无际的湖水，高大的建筑物隐隐约约的照在水面上多么像水底城啊！很快我们就来到了坐船的地方，我问叔叔还有等多久，才能轮到我们坐船呀？”那位叔叔说：“大约半个小时吧！我听了目瞪口呆，可是没有办法，只有慢慢等，等了好久。终于盼到了我们的船。我立刻跳上船，开心地划着船，我心里就像一下吃了蜂蜜一样甜，开船了，我看见小鱼在向我们打招呼，野鸭子在向我们祝福，祝福我们五一节快乐。很快足足的一个小时就过去了，回去的时侯，因为水太大的原因吧！有些水花落在我的手上好像在提醒我们下一次记着还要到这美丽的地方来玩。
五一节就这样过去了，真是个难忘的节日，这是个令人怀念的全家人的节日。

On the first day of the rest, mom and dad and I went to ningbo sea world and youngor zoo.
We first came to the sea world. Once in the aquarium, dad took me to see the sea precious animals. Have the hippocampus, giant salamander, heavy sea turtles, and cute little penguins. In the panda garden, I finally met our national treasure, the giant panda. They are naughty flip, also eat bamboo. Beautiful peacock contended for the tail, to show us their beauty.

五一节到了，阳光明媚，我的心也开朗多了，今天，我在家玩电脑，玩着玩着，突然来了一个电话，一看，哦！是小迪！我连忙接电话：“喂！”“喂，小钰，你去草山烤烧烤吗？”“真的吗？好！我来！”说完，我马上穿上外套出门了！
一来到院子里，钟雨由页她们来接我了，我连忙上车，上车看到了小婕，原来小婕也会去。上车后，我们开开心心地去草山了。
在路上，小鸟为我们唱歌，花儿们向我点头。一路上，我们说说笑笑，一会儿听音乐，一会儿……过了一个半小时，我们到草山了。大人们都在忙着布置烧烤的工具，我们几个小孩子，就去了草山上抓羊去了。迪负责不准羊上山，婕负责抓小羊，我负责不准小羊下山。抓羊行动开始了，迪马上跑上山去拦住小羊，我呢！现在没事做，只能呆呆地看着她们抓羊了……“郭钰煜，郭钰煜，快点啊！羊来了。”我从美景的沉醉中醒来，“哦”我写上一抓，哎呀！没抓到，可惜了！后来，我觉得不好玩了，我就去烧烧烤了。我先串好一串香肠，用刀切了几下，就去烤了。迪也串了几串，她叫我帮她烤了，我拿着烤，烤着烧着，我忘记这是谁的了，我就问大家：“这两串谁要？”迪跑过来说：“是我的！”我给了她，迪爸爸听见了，骂得迪屁滚尿流，说道：“这东西是大家的，知道吗？”迪点了点头。我们烤了三个小时，开开心心的回家了。
五一过得真开心，这是一次难忘的五一。

五一黄金周去了好几处地方游玩，让人流连忘返。
陈家祠是个很好的博物馆。五一时，陈家祠里陈列了许多银餐具、银家具等，还摆放了十几个绝版的陶瓷。这些珍贵、无价之宝吸引了许许多多中处游客去欣赏，顺便拍照留念。
长隆水上乐园不愧是广州之最。一条长约500米，宽约30米的矮水道铺在乐园里，旁边有摩天大厦。矮水道上有冲浪游戏、泼水游戏，游客们沉浸在水的世界中，流连忘返。
越秀公园也很出名。近来，许多游客到越秀公园玩击流冲浪。这个游戏我曾在越秀公园的蝙蝠古楼旁见过，当一条小而硬的铁船往下冲时，击起了一波波浪花。人坐在里面，仿佛看到了一块水之玻璃；若落了下来，可能会溅到身上，非常刺激。
大佛山公园，晓港公园，是一片花的海洋。放眼望去，一群群花儿尽收眼底。如果一阵风吹来，花瓣四处飘荡，好像海上激起了一股波浪。若人们见了，会有多么高兴！一定会对这花儿赞不绝口！
五一黄金，是个宝贵的时候。旅游吧，见见事面，这个假期就是有意义丰富多彩的！
