It’s a long time no contacting with you since last e-mail. And I miss you so much. Recently I luckily turn to the third officer working on board MV Blue Whale,which is a container ship. I intend to introduce you what Ido on this big vessel in this letter.
I am the third officer working in the deck department. As you know, the third officer is responsible to the master for the proper performance of his assigned bridge watchstanding and navigational duties.
On board, my first daily work is wathckeeping from 8 to 12 and from 20 to 24. my second daily work is in charge of the maintance of the fire-fighting equipment and life-saving equipment. The third , I am also responsible for fire and boat drills, I have to design a muster list and make crew to know the best escape route clearly. Additionally, there are also some simple things I have to do in daily work. 机会终于来了!今天是星期天?我起了个大早，然后对爸爸妈妈说：“今天的早餐我来做，一来让我学学，二来你们也休息休息。”
于是，我跑到厨房戴好袖穿好围裙，准备下面条。爸爸忽然从我身后跳了出来，说道，哈哈，简直就是一个小厨师。这次弟弟也跑了过来说，姐姐，我相信你做得一定很好吃，加油!我高兴的点了点头。
经过弟弟的一番鼓励，心里的自信又多添了几分。我先把锅放在灶上，感觉锅好重啊!我又在锅里加了点水，盖上锅盖，准备点火，可我又不敢开。生怕火会窜到我身上。我开始有点儿退缩了，可我答应了爸爸妈妈，给他们做早餐的，我不能失信于人，这点小困难，肯定难不倒我。我鼓起勇气，一只手扭开关，终于把火给点着了。其实点火也不会很难嘛。现在是在烧水，好无聊啊!不然先调调料?说干就干，我学着妈妈的样子放了点儿麻油，鸡精到碗里。待会儿好把它们放入锅内。我把锅盖打开来看了看，水还没开。我只好先把洗好的菜拿来切。忽然听到一阵“扑扑”的声音。一定是水开了，我本想在准备好的面条放入锅内，继续切菜。可是，一伸手就立刻缩了回来，水蒸气太烫了，我觉得我根本就做不到。可我不想半途而废，还是忍住了。终于切完了菜，眼看就要成功了。
突然又听到了一阵“扑扑”的声音。不好，锅开了，而且还向外冒泡泡，吓死我了。这时我才想起妈妈的话：煮东西的时候一定要认真，不能三心二意的。不光是这个，做每件事情都是这样。我赶紧把青菜放到锅里，让它再煮一会儿。之后，我把调好的调料倒进锅里，用锅铲搅拌了一下。我想，面条应该熟了我便拿了双筷子，尝了尝。嗯，熟了，味道不错!
现在开始装面条，可是面条特滑，刚把它夹在筷子上一会儿它又跑了。活像一个调皮的小孩。哎，真急人。正在我不知所措之时，爸爸来了，他说：“还是我来吧，你已经很棒了!看着爸爸轻松地把四碗热腾腾的面条送上桌时，我的口水已经快流出来了，弟弟马上抄起筷子吃了起来，一口过后说：“姐姐，你的手艺不错嘛!”我乐滋滋的.笑了笑然后开始吃我第一次亲手煮的面条，我一边吃一边沾沾自喜的同时，我看到了爸爸妈妈欣慰的笑。
