两个不同的孩子，两个不同的家庭，两种不同的生活环境，互换后，又有两种不同的结果。首先，是一个生活在十分优越的.家庭里，却沉迷于网络的少年；另一个是喜好学习，家庭条件却十分困苦，还面临着可能无法学习的勤奋少年。
一个礼拜的互换……
首先，是沉迷于网络的城市少年——魏程。当他来到青海的一个贫困的山村，面对这样那样的不习惯与陌生，他一点也不慌乱。辍学已久的他，在第一天上课的时候，他打瞌睡了。这也不能怪他，一方面，是之前晚上通宵打游戏，白天补觉的习惯，一方面，他已经很久没去上学了，况且，又是他最讨厌的英语课。
在第三天的时候，他们上的是电脑课，原本我以为，常年呆在网吧里玩游戏的魏程，会专心致志投入到电脑游戏当中，可他并没有那么做，教同学们如何使用电脑。
当魏程得知，离这儿不远处，可以看见我们的母亲河——黄河时，他兴致勃勃地告诉了高爸爸。高爸爸拿出了多年以来的积蓄——20元，零零碎碎的20元，又旧又皱的20元，十分宝贵的20元。魏程决心要将这20元还给高爸爸，于是，去打工了。烈日当空，太阳炙烤着大地，魏程在这艰苦的环境下，尽管伤痕累累，他还是坚持了10小时，赚回20元，带着高爸爸一家去黄河边游玩。面对滚滚的黄河水，他失声痛哭，也说出了他的全部心声。魏程，他变了。高占喜，得知父亲脚崴了，突然改变心意。仿佛变回以前的高占喜。
一个礼拜的互换后，魏程，他敞开了心扉，变回了以前那个成绩优异的他，重返校园；高占喜，依然还是那么天正，那么活泼，勤劳能干。
两种不一样的生活，成就了两个优秀的少年。
