二儿子听了很不高兴，对哥哥说，你骑着到处跑那我怎么办呢。
两人为了到底谁骑小骡子的事争执不下，最后商定两个人一起骑。父母又不乐意了，小骡子两个人一起骑，把它腰给压折了，那长大了怎么用。
全家人就吵成一团，这时候来了一个亲戚，问你们争什么。他们就说在争到底该买一头母骡子还是公骡子，生了小的怎么办。那个亲戚就说不用争，骡子本就不会生小骡子的。
在没有认清这个事实真相之前不要想太多，对没有来到的事情不要想太多。有些事情不会因为我们的想法运转。我们可以这样去设计它，可以照这样的方向去努力，但最后的结果成为什么样，不是我们现在用想象就可以想象出来的。我们不要花太多时间在一些还看不到结果的假设上做无用的想象。

这个现象和渔民捕鱼有什么关系呢?原来，出现这个现象就预示着渔民不但可以捕到大量的爆火鱼，而且还有机会捕到珍贵的雪豚鱼。这是因为爆火鱼喜欢过群体生活，而它们的天敌就是雪豚鱼。当雪豚鱼发现爆火鱼成群结队在海洋中游弋的时候，它便会毫无顾忌地冲过去捕食爆火鱼。可爆火鱼看到天敌来袭，也不会白白束手就范，它们会迅速聚集，然后相互猛烈地摩擦身体，突然间在水面发出一大团火花与雪豚鱼对峙。雪豚鱼看到这个阵势，吓得会怔在那里。
然而，爆火鱼发出的火花仅仅保持了一会，并且是且战且退向雪豚鱼相反的方向退缩，静待原地的雪豚鱼看到了爆火鱼虚张声势的本质，便瞬间加速向爆火鱼冲去，胆怯的爆火鱼此时全无斗志，四下逃窜，整团的火花没有了，只留下了逃窜的它们错乱间擦出点点小火花。渔民就是抓住了这个现象，发现一团渐大的火花后便开始张网，往往能捉到许多爆火鱼和珍贵的雪豚鱼。
抛开渔民不谈，我们单纯地去看雪豚鱼捕爆火鱼的现象，应该会受到一些启发。许多时候，像爆火鱼一样，我们能够凝聚在一起，也会产生强大的能量，但必须记住，不能用这个强大能量吓唬敌人，而是要利用它向前冲锋打败敌人。

The habit of attention becomes part of our life, if we begin early enough. I often hear grown up people say, I could not fix my attention on the sermon or book, although I wished to do so, and the reason is, the habit was not formed in youth.
If I were to live my life over again, I would pay more attention to the cultivation of the memory. I would strengthen that faculty by every possible means, and on every possible occasion. If I were a boy again, I would cultivate courage. Nothing is so mild and gentle as courage, nothing so cruel and pitiless as cowardice, says a wise author.
We too often borrow trouble, and anticipate that may never appear. The fear of ill exceeds the ill we fear. Dangers will arise in any career, but presence of mind will often conquer the worst of them. Be prepared for any fate, and there is no harm to be feared.

可做好方便面后尝了一下，明显比我在家里做的好吃。这是为什呢？
回到家后，我百思不得其解：为什么同一个人做出的方便面味道会不一样呢？我想原材料应该没问题，都是康师傅老坛酸菜牛肉面（这酸爽，简直不敢相信！），那么问题到底出在哪里呢？经过很长时间的思索，我觉得应该是做饭的锅不同。我家一般都用铝锅，而我哥家一般都用铁锅。也就是说味道不同，是因为两锅中有不同的元素掺入其中。
那么到底是什么呢？
我找出一只铁锅，和我家那只铝锅放在一起，里面倒入相同质量的水，然后加热至沸腾。等这些水冷却下来，我把它们分别倒入两个相同的、干净的烧杯中。（用铁锅煮出来的以下简称Fe水，铝锅的简称Al水）
现在，我把两个烧杯放在铁架台上，用酒精灯给两个烧杯加热，将水蒸发出去。这时候，Fe水底部留下了一些偏黑的银色颗粒，而Al水却没有任何杂物。证明了味道不同，就是因为这些偏黑的银色颗粒引起的'。那么这些颗粒到底是什么呢？
既然是铁锅中有，而铝锅没有的，那我首先会想到是铁。于是乎，我将这些颗粒装入一个透明的袋子中，用吸铁石靠近，发现这些颗粒被吸铁石吸引，那么也就证明了这些物质是铁。也就是说铁锅和铝锅炒出来的菜味道不一样就是因为这些铁颗粒改变了味道。
所以呢，用铁锅炒菜能补充铁元素。高温下，铁锅中的少量铁元素会渗入到食物中，因此在客观上起到了补铁的作用。如果长时间不使用铁锅，那么可能会得缺铁性贫血。

故事要回溯到大师12岁那年。那年，大师随妈妈从扬州去南京寻找父亲，到宜兴时，遇见一位寺院修行的师父。师父问他愿不愿意随他回寺院，出家修行。或许这是属于大师和修行的缘机，大师断然表示愿意跟随。
师父带他回寺院见住持。住持说，在为他剃度前要问他一个问题，如果答不好，将用手中的藤条来做小小的惩戒。他点点头。
住持问他：“为什么出家?”他想了想，答：“是我自己愿意出家。”话音落下，住持的藤条劈头盖脸打下来，说：“你自己愿意出家就出家?没有师父领你，你如何能出?”少年星云想想，于是说：“是师父要我出家。”藤条再落下来，住持说：“师父要你出家你就出家了，你没有主见吗?”星云想想住持的话有道理，再回答：“是师父要我出家，也是我自己愿意来的。”不料住持又用藤条打了他一顿，打完后再追问：“是谁让你出家的?”他蒙了，不知该如何回答，说：“我也不知道，你打我就是了。”想不到这下住持放下了藤条，说“这回可以了”，这才为他剃度。
著名文化学者于丹这样解读大师的这则故事。她说，“为什么出家”跟“一个人要怎么进入社会”是同样的道理。
我们进入社会，经过从前的，发觉只站在自己的角度，这样不对。这时开始会想到兼顾一些别人的角度，变得成熟一点。而这个时候还挨打，内心就会出现不平衡，也许就会愤世嫉俗，甚至怨天尤人，以偏概全。这也许是我们大多数人都经过的心路历程。
最后少年星云答：“我也不知道，你打我就是了。”住持却放下藤条，对他的回答满意了。
她这么解读：经过一些体悟和磨砺，我们进入一层新的境界，觉得世界永远比我们想象的复杂，但是我不能因为挨打而停止做我该做的事。于是会很勇敢，也很坦然地对世界说，你打我就是了，我继续做我自己的事。
