4、白芷又为治鼻渊要药，有化湿通鼻窍之功，多配合辛夷、鹅儿不食草等同用，既可内服，又可外用。还可用于毒蛇咬伤，有解蛇毒作用，古代有单用煎汤内服，用渣外敷的记载，现代有些蛇药解毒片即有本品配伍在内。
5、白芷用于疮疡肿痛：白芷治疮疡，初起能消散，溃后能排脓，为外科常用的辅助药品。如乳痈初起可配蒲公英、瓜蒌同用;脓出不畅配金银花、天花粉同用。在消散疮疡方面还可以研末外敷。

阴虚血热者忌服白芷。

③杭白芷，又名：浙白芷、台湾当归。
