2023年小学生英文作文【一】
新年到了，老家门前的广场早早就挂起了大红灯笼，大街小巷也贴满了春联。春联贴了，福气自然也就到了。但是今年出现的一种新型冠状病毒，让全国人民这个新年过得心里很不畅快。
现在国家为了十几亿人民的安全，所有医护人员奋战在第一线。这其中就有我的妈妈，我觉得很骄傲。当然，我也很担心她的安全。为病毒传播不再继续扩大，她努力工作，放弃休假。
本来的计划是爷爷奶奶弟弟先回老家，我跟老妈在年三十坐高铁回去。可到了年二九，妈妈退掉了车票，郑重其事地和我说：“妈妈因为临时工作原因，不能陪你回去了。你已经长大了，可以独自去，希望你能理解。”当时我就懵了，一想到自己从没有一个人出门这么远，心里不理解，甚至有点气愤。一路上爸爸妈妈打来的好多电话，我也是带着情绪交流。
随着疫情带来的影响，加上爷爷奶奶不断开导我：“妈妈是医护人员，这是她的责任。”我慢慢释怀，理解了妈妈，知道妈妈就是电视上说的“最美逆行者”。
我在老家很无聊，就畅想楼下的情景：楼下的广场舞大妈翩翩起舞，烟花在天空中尽情绽放。广场上形成了一股人流，大家作揖拜年问候……现实却让人大失所望，广场空无一人。我一探脑袋，大声嚷道：“爷爷奶奶，今年广场怎么一个人都没有，我在家里难受啊!我想同学们了，真希望早点开学。”
家里最欢快的，就数我那两岁的弟弟了。他时而冲出房间，时而扯着奶奶，时而拽着我。因为他，疫情好像并不存在，大家都沉浸在过年的喜悦中。
年夜饭上桌了，虽然比不了大酒店的色香味俱全，爷爷也准备了一天。辛辛苦苦做的一桌子菜，都是我喜欢吃的。我有时候在想：过年到底图什么?不就是图个团圆嘛。现在我深有体会了，妈妈舍小家为大家，虽不在身边，但是我心里觉得很幸福，也很光荣。我能做的就是减少出门，不去人多的地方。只要勤洗手，不去找病毒，病毒自然也不会来找我们。
最后，我想对在外的爸爸妈妈说一声：“新年快乐，我爱你们!”

Christmas Day falls on the twenty-fifth of December.It is a very happy day for many boys and girls .Before the term ends in some schools ,the children act a nativity or “birth” play,showing how Jesus was born in a stable.
On the twenty-fourth of December,all children are very excited.Usually they are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready.The younger children think that Father Christmas will come down the chimney or fireplace ,so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in.The greedy ones even hang up a pillow-case or a sack to try to get more presents.Later that night,Father or Mother will put presents in the sock,and leave others at the side of the bed.
On Christmas morning,the children wake up very early.Some even turn on the light at two o'clock,and most of them are awake by six o'clock although it is not light in England for another hour or two at this time of the year.Children look for their presents,and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared.At about one o'clock in the afternoon,the Christmas dinner is brought in.The turkey or chicken is quickly eaten.Children search in their Christmas pudding for new coins which are hidden in it.The rest of the day is full of games and eating until the happiest of all Christmas hollidays comes to an end.

It has been two weeks since I last wrote to you. I am so sorry that I don‘t write you very often.
However, I have been busy with my preparation
for the final exams. As you know, I‘m coming home on Jan.14th. But before that, I have to take the final exams for all six classes I‘m taking this semester. Recently I have been in and out of the library a lot to do some research on the term paper for one of the classes. Most professors gave out the review problems already so that the students can study for the final. I think I‘m doing okay studying for the final.
Besides reviewing materials, I‘m also planning to host the New Year party of my department. You know there are so many talented people in my Communications major, but they picked me to host the party! Great, isn‘t it?
