要分析自己所处的环境，并根据自身条件去扬长避短，找到自己应对目前环境的策略和方法。认识自己也是一个漫长的过程，需要阶段性的反思和检讨，盲目的自信和自卑都是不足取的。超越自己就是要驾驭好自己的优缺点。一个人优缺点的本质很难加以改变，机遇也不是人能够完全把握的，但一个理性、平和的人应该不让优缺点主宰自己，而是要驾驭好自己的优缺点，灵活运用自己的优缺点，以优补缺。当发现自己设定的目标不切实际或过高时，就要及时地做出调整。当然也要学会忍耐和等待，不能急功近利，不要干欲速不达的事情，在等待中积累经验和知识。认识自己、超越自己的最终目的是合理的规划自己，面对未来不再迷惑，知道自己以后要达到的目标和使命是什么，需要通过什么方式来达到自己的目标。
