二十多年过后的今天，只要一提起老家，爸爸就痛心不已。因为老家已经不再美丽，河流不再清澈，而成了一条浑浊的臭水河；山坡不再苍翠，昔日的树林已成了光秃秃的山丘。而房前屋后也是杂草丛生，再看不到昔日满目的苍翠——这十几二十年的变化就是例证！
不仅仅是我的老家，也不仅仅是农村，也不仅仅是中国，世界上很多地方都因为人的贪婪和私欲被毁得满目疮痍，面目全非。因诸多工厂的污染，北京已成为了“霾城”；因水资源的污染，中国已成为了世界上最缺少水资源的'国家之一；因人类滥用化学用品，地球上的臭氧层已被撕得惨不忍睹……
面对这些事实，很多人无动于衷。因为他们认为地球大得很，事实并没有那么糟，即使有那么糟，那也是在别人地盘，出现在别人的身上……可是，他们却万万没想到，大家其实是坐在同一条船上。只要船出了问题，无论是哪里的问题？都会影响整艘船的人。就拿臭氧层来说吧！虽然臭氧层出现漏洞的地方是在南极上空，但它却实实在在地导致了全球气候的变暖，进而冰山融化，海平面上升，影响到了全世界海岸线边生存的人们。
