summer can be very hot in southern taiwan where the temperature usually goes up to 32"c or more. because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. also because of this i stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky.
actually i like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. in the summer vacation that has just ended i went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. this summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. as a second-year senior student i had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. in other words, i must find time to study, too.
so i divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

the summer vacation had come round again. i was happy that i could forget about school at least for a while. lest i fool around all through this summer vacation, i made a plan as to how to spend it. first, i thought i should go over all those things my teachers taught in the previous term so that i could have a better understanding of them.
then i thought i should take up some forms of exercise, such as walking, running and rowing, to keep me physically strong. it stood to reason that with such a good plan i should make the best of my vacation time. i did, because i lived up to what i had planned.

Above all, I wanted to help my mother with housework. I also wished to read many hooks which my teachers had recommended. However, at home, my mother would never let me do anything. She completely deprived me of sharing her work. As soon as I opened a book to read,she would sit down beside me and ask me about all kinds of things at the college. To please her,I told her one thing after another,and soon I forgot all about books. Even when I was actually reading,she would, now and then,insist that I should eat an egg or drink a cup of tea. When I left home at the end of the vacation, not a thing in my plan had been carried out. But I felt very happy. I believed much more deeply than before in the old saying: Home, sweet home. 前些年看的话，可能会以女主的视角为主线，看到她处处受到责难进退两难。看多了，就能感觉到每一个冲突点，都是在拍电影，不是很自然，太多了。每个点都在指向“不懂英语不行”。似乎所有人都在嘲笑她。所以，她找到了学习英语的意义，把它变成了一个刚需，就有了内生动力。
话说这孩子教育得也挺失败的，跟他父亲的影响不无关系，跟印度整体的环境不无关系。
人类社会处在一个巨大的进程当中，总有一天，不平等会消失。
我们中国人（汉族）敢于穿着自己民族的服装（是什么？）出现在曼哈顿吗？
小球洒一地的时候，真的感受到了女主那种绝望，这是她此次来美国最大亮点，之前的麻烦和劳作，都是为了让客人尝到小球时那种惊喜和incredible的赞叹，这是她生命的全部意义，现在，没有了。
有没有中国父母能做到被小孩子破坏成那个样子的时候，不发飙？现实生活中是怎样的？印度父母在这种情况下会不责备孩子？表示怀疑。或者，这只是剧情需要，此处教育孩子不是重点。
