summer can be very hot in southern taiwan where the temperature usually goes up to 32"c or more. because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. also because of this i stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky.
actually i like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. in the summer vacation that has just ended i went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. this summer vacation, however, was not spent entirely in seeking fun. as a second-year senior student i had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. in other words, i must find time to study, too.
so i divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

I went to the countryside to spend my summer holidays this year. I liked green plants, clear rivers and lovely amimals there.I breathed the fresh air on the mountain and sometimes I went swimming in the river. I kept a diary every day.
I liked not only the scene of the countryside, but also the people there. I helped them to do farm work. I also helped the children in the neighbourhood with their lessons. The children were interested in English. They were good at reading and writing, but did not do well in listening and speaking. I helped them improve their listening and speaking. Their parents thought highly of me. I realized that knowledge is greatly needed in the countryside.

我的暑假是个快乐的暑假。因为暑假里爸爸、妈妈带我去学习了跆拳道。
一说起跆拳道，我就会想起那美好的时光。我来到跆拳道馆，里面有好多沙包。上课了我们排好队，教练说：“立正的时候双脚分开。”我们分开了双脚。教练又说：“我们跑几圈吧！这样会四肢活动开来，才好练习有难度的动作。”我们跑起来了，我们一边跑，一边大声叫着：“一、二、三、四。”跑完了我们坐在软软的草地上开始练习压腿。我们把左脚往前伸直，右脚背在后面，头往前压。教练说：“支持就是胜利。”压完了这只，我们又换了另一只。教练说：“要下叉了。”我们左脚往前，后跟往上勾，右脚往后，脚背向地。我们用力往下压，唉呀，好疼呀！，但我一想到教练“坚持就是胜利”的话音，于是我鼓起勇气往下压，我咬紧牙关，脸弊的通红，忍住疼痛，渐渐地，双腿离地面越来越近，最后，成功地下叉，教练也为我的成功与勇气拍手叫好。
你们不要看教练不打人，平时笑容可掬，可一进入训练时就像变了一个人似的，严肃而又不苟言笑。有一次，我说了一句话，被教练发现了就被叫到前面去，我被叫趴在地上，教练拿起棒子打了我的'屁股，我觉得很痛。可是还得忍着敬礼，因为这是跆拳道的规定。
练习跆拳道不仅能强身健体，更能锻炼一个人吃苦耐劳、坚毅顽强的品格。练跆拳道丰富了我的暑假生活，我爱这个快乐的暑假生活。

暑假在家里，我姐姐一直在耳边念叨：“你暑假学什么？”我听得头也快炸了，妈妈说让我去学钢琴，我说：“不学。”姐姐说：“那学吉它，吉它拿起来很帅的。”我被这句话吸引了，忙说：“妈妈我要去学吉它。”姐姐接着说：“记得学成了来教我。”
我学了一天，就觉得吉他很难学，我说：“妈妈我不学了。”妈妈说学费都交了，一定要学下去。我无奈地答应了。我每天在学习那边就像在牢房一样，每天要学几个小时，回到家里还要被妈妈要逼我弹1个小时，有时，弹久了，手皮都弹破了，手指觉得很痛，弹错了还得再弹，直到弹好为止，弹不好还不让我吃饭，有时看电视都没有看成。
过了几天，姐姐学了钢琴，回来说：“我们来比试。”我说：“好。”她弹得轻松自如，连琴键都不用看就随手弹出来，我很佩服她。轮到我弹了，居然弹得断断续续，惨不忍听，姐姐笑我说：“你弹的速度，就像乌龟。”我心里很生气，真想打她一顿。
我越来越后悔，当初我为什么要学吉它呢？要是让我重新选择的话，我肯定不选吉他。

暑假里的一天，我做了一件特别有意义的事：那就是暑假里学会了自己洗衣服。
在这之前，我的衣服都是洗衣机洗或妈妈用手洗，可今天是我自己第一次洗自己的衣服。我先把水池接满水，再把衣服放进去，刚才还很轻的衣服一下子变得沉甸甸，然后我又拿来透明皂，给衣服打上一点，认真的搓了一会儿，放入水中，刚才还轻轻的水面一下子出现了无数白色小泡泡，我用双手又使劲揉了揉，把水放掉后，泡沫没留完，它们好像很不情愿的样子，怎样也不愿意流下去，我又把水倒满把衣服清洗了几下，就把衣服拧干，挂上了衣架。我搭到外面一看，妈妈洗的衣服比我洗的白多了。就问妈妈：“为什么你洗的衣服比我的白呢？"妈妈说：“你洗衣服首先要整体的搓，再对着有污渍的地方用力的搓，最重要的是把衣服要浸泡十几分钟，再接着把污渍搓干净，用清水清洗，洗完一遍后一定要拧干，多洗几遍直到水清为止。”我用妈妈的方法又洗了一遍，果然比上次干净多了。看着我自己洗的衣服我心里美滋滋的。
这就是我暑假里做的有意义的事，通过这次的学洗衣服，我学会了很多东西。
