有人的地方便有差异，有差异的地方便有选择。让一切各得其所，这是目的也是意义。被打的自主招生亦是一种选拔人才的形式，因其镀这名校的金而被广泛讨论。高校渴望优秀的学子，学子钟情心仪的高校，一桩两厢情愿的美事，然而细揪倒颇还有些值得思考的关系。
其一在于标准。既然一切的根源是人与人之间的差异，不妨来谈谈差异。不幸而普遍的是，很多人混淆了“差异”与“优劣”的定义。前者描述不同人在不同维度下的多元化与可能性，后者单独拿来说便是硬性指标下的偏执。前者是蝴蝶的茧，后者却板上钉钉。令人欣慰的是，北大强调了“多维量才、多元选才的人才评价与选拔机制”，虽嫌言语宽泛，也至少未碾碎那一个个朴实而茧下斑斓的蝴蝶心。选拔者对于选拔的标准万不可不谨慎，因为这将决定你彀中英雄之能力取向甚至价值观取向。倘若还能一起昔日九品中正桎梏下寒门少年的冷冷的眼，倘若还能忆起八股取士制度下那千篇一律的起承转合——旧时代的某些不看的一幕幕重演，唱戏的`确实现代人。如何真正做到标准的公正、妥帖、多元，是制度之上的人们应该深深思考的。
其二在于制度之下的普通人的价值观取向。科举放榜，自古几家欢喜几家愁，蟾宫折桂的喜气洋洋，名落孙山的面上多挂不住。人的悲喜是最自然的事，你无须追究，需要正视的是人的眼底那泓咋惊的波澜之中隐藏的动机与起因。倘若你是为了自己的无能而悲，大可不必，因为无论你是否通过某次选拔，你都始终是未饱和状态，一般而言，若不是无可逾越的差距，你要关注的应是当下的速度而不是过去的位移，毕竟我们深知，一切沟壑正被填平。倘若你是为了某些人眼中冀许之火焰的熄灭而悲，更可免了，你不必活的如此辛苦，为时代的盲流所裹挟。北大写给落榜者的信中提到，执着与自信比选拔的结果更能决定你的未来，我想这其中的道理，便在于对于已尽之事与未经之事的认知，如同英语中的过去时与进行时，而我们的目光在将来时。换句古话说，无论明年此日能否青云而上，我们都应坚持“又携书剑两茫茫”的豪迈，一往无前。
我们生活在选拔之中。
我们的生活在求索之中。既是选拔者的求索，亦是被选拔者的求索。还好，一切终将各得其所。
