罗伊。波特的《极简医学史》，是我这几个月以来看到的十几本书中，令我感觉最好的一部。
首先是我对于医学的无知。从小到大，医学是与自身关系最密切，但也是我最薄弱的知识环节，薄弱到了看到微信里大量转发的“千万转发量：健康养生你不得不读的N条军规”之类的标题党，都忍不住点进去看，看了吓个半死，又去百度作者和是否真实。
愚昧源于无知。这书又让我想起了家里很早的一本五几年出版的繁体字的，连作者都没有的《中国文学史》中册。那本书抽取了唐诗宋词的精华，最后成为了我中学6年最好的课外书，甚至是我一切文字基础和文学审美的第一个源泉，以至于每到备考之前最疲惫最紧张的时候，都会翻一翻，从中找到愉悦和松弛。
好书的第一个标准：就是可以用最简单的语言，推开你对一个陌生领域的门，微言大义，引人入胜。如果你对医学什么都不懂，又想有所了解，这本书是我迄今为止看到的最好的启蒙。
其次，信息结构合理。读这本书可以看出作者的阅读量是非常大。以史为名的书，很容易变成按照时间顺序的史料罗列，但由于时间线过长，就会给读者的记忆造成很大的障碍，单一的时间线索对于写史来说，是非常大的考验，一般的作者都会在时间线里引入新的逻辑，并不断的回顾。
比如《极简欧洲史》，就是用不同的专题对欧洲历史的时间线重复回顾，本书也是一样，将医学发展中几个最重要的要素按其起源和发展的逻辑单独成章，每一章都有一条时间线，，每条时间线都清晰简短，各条时间线有重合又不相同，这样对理解起来非常有帮助。好书的第二个标准：逻辑主干简洁清晰，逻辑枝干彼此呼应，加深理解。
最后，回归本源。人类文明的所有枝***历史，朔源起来，都会回到人类文明历史本身。本文对医学发展上那些著名的人和事，波折和纠结，都有非常客观的描述。即使是对最极端的社会现象，也没有道德评价，只有客观描述。好书的第三个标准，就是平实客观的描述了此时彼刻那些人和事，极少作者主观的评价。
其实，大到人类群体，小到我们自身，从来就没有什么绝对的理性，只有在具体的情境下，无数个不得已的选择，这些选择，推动了我们的进步。比如人类聚居和对家禽的驯化造成了疾病的爆发和微生物向人体的转移和集聚，又比如外科一直都和理发匠一起归类，直到1745年，英国国会才让理发匠脱离外科行会，自行组织行会，而真正推动外科发展，是战场上的无数伤亡；再比如直到1800年前后，由于通风和消毒问题，医院都是老百姓避之不及的地狱。

简单地说，世上行医的人大致可以分为几类：医匠（为赚钱陌生而行医）、医生（为治病救人而行医）、医师（为弘扬医学而行医）、医学家（为人类健康而行医）。
大致说来，广义的医学在数千年的发展过程中，先后经历的三个不同的、相互交替的阶段：神道医学（MagicalorReligiousMedicine）、经验医学（EmpiricalMedicine）和理性医学（ScientificMedicine）。
神道医学：将人类疾病归因于神灵的惩罚或魔鬼的作祟，而以祈祷、驱邪为主要手段，球的疾病缓解。
经验医学：医生运用自己的感官，对患者所表现的症状进行直接观察、描述，根据经验作出适当诊断，基本上派出了超自然因素（魔鬼、神灵）致病的可能。医生根据对患者的观察与分析，结合自己或他人的经验，使用药物或其他相应的辅助治疗，获得疾病的缓解。也被称为感性医学。
理性医学：完全排除了超自然的致病因素，以生物科学坐位临床实践的基础，又被称为生物医学或现代医学。
