Because count- less hours were invested on practicing musicalinsUu- ments, there was not even a slim chance for me to participate in parties and school plays, let alone fully enjoy the authentic pleasures of family life.Moreover, deprived of the freedom to choose hob- bies, I sometimes felt that I was just like a lonely pup- pet manipulated by others. Dear mother, do you be- lieve that time and time again I woke up from beau- tiful dreams with tears streaming down my face?
However, though I ve labeled it as a brutal regimen when I was young, as I became heavily involved inme outside world, I ve come to realize that it was quite rewarding to have been tiger trained. This is as true of 0ur growing up, especially in an unprecedentedly stressful so- cietyr, Fortunately, tiger parenting has equipped me with exceptional study habits,thus helping me stand out in the intense competition. 夜深了，家里的灯只有妈妈那个屋子还亮着。我担心妈妈又在辛劳，便披上衣服去看她干什么。她回头看看我，说：“宏尧啊，天气预报说明天有大风，我把你的这件毛衣打完，你去睡觉吧。”“妈妈，我不冷，你也休息吧！”她摇头说：“你去休息，别管我。”我不情愿地回到自己的房间。躺在床上我却睡不着，往事历历在目。
去年夏季的一天，教室外下起了大雨。放学的时候，很多同学被家长接走了，只有我和另外几名同学仍望着窗户上密集的雨点打愣神儿。我想：难道妈妈不来接我了？正在这时，妈妈来了，她说：“儿子，真对不起，妈妈在路上滑了一跤，车子也被摔坏了，所以来晚了。”回家的路上，妈妈顶风冒雨推着车子。我对她说：“我帮你推吧。”她说：“妈妈不累，还是我推吧。”其实我知道，此时妈妈是很累的。
一天夜里，我发高烧，嘴唇都起了泡。妈妈赶紧到大街上叫来出租车送我到医院。医生打完针又给我开了药，让我回家好好休息。那几天妈妈常坐在我的床头细心照顾我，一会儿给我削苹果，一会儿给我端水、喂药，一会儿用热毛巾给我擦脸，忙得不亦乐乎。在妈妈精心的呵护下，我的病很快就好了。但是，妈妈却消瘦了许多。望着妈妈那慈祥的双眼，望着妈妈那灿烂的笑容，望着妈妈那亲切的身影，我的心头涌起一股暖流……
