不久前，某大学的大学生在风雨中打着手电栽油菜，因为农场劳动是该校的必修课。
对此现象，不同的人有不同的看法。有人支持校长，认为学生须亲手碰到泥土才懂得奋斗与劳动的含义，也有人不同意，认为有矫枉过正之嫌，还有人则说大学生主要任务是学习专业知识。而笔者想问的是：“难道学会了农场劳动，就能真正明白奋斗与劳动吗？”
指出对方的误区，阐明自己的理由随着社会的发展，人们的生活水平在不断提高，新一代对于奋斗与劳动的定义可能确实不太清楚。但通过“接触泥土”这一方式来促进理解，笔者认为有失偏颇。农民在田里耕种为的是自己的生计，无需多说，必须尽心尽力地劳作才能有好收成，刮风下雨之时更要保护好他们的“经济来源”，而现今的大学生，不少都只为了获得“毕业通行证”而去做，不是真心付出，哪得奋斗与劳动之感？怕是草草了事，应付而过。至于雨天栽种，更是被任务驱使而做，易产生怨气与不满。如此看来，反感之情易大于真心体会之意。
深入况且，奋斗与劳动并非仅体现于农场劳作这一举动之中。学校仅通过这一种课程来教育学生，未免过于单一，或者说是缩小了学生获得奋斗与劳动体会的范围，反而无法真正地让学生体会到多元社会中所存在的另一些劳动与奋斗。笔者并不否认农场劳动的意义，也认为新一代缺少对劳动奋斗的理解这一问题确实要引起人们重视，但那些农民工头顶烈日地在工地上劳动不算奋斗？那些快递员不论刮风下雨都奔走于街道之间不算劳动？这些人也和农民一样地在为生计奋斗与劳动，大学生也可以改变方式来体验社会。
提出措施直面问题并敢于作为是我们进步的表现。面对这一问题，我们的做法也当然不只有材料中那位校长所说的农场劳动，也许，学校只需多增加几门选修课，或去体验几次快递员的经历，去工地上体验几次大汗淋漓，背灼炎天光的经历，我想也比学生不情愿地打着手电在雨里栽种要好些吧。
奋斗与劳动的意义我想就在这吧。
