对于桃花心木来说，我就是温室里的花朵了。记得二年级暑假的时候，我在家中的空调房里做作业，然而午饭成了一个很大的问题。爸爸冒着烈日，每天中午回来给我做午饭。一个星期之后，爸爸决定让我到楼下小店里吃饭。可是，因为店里卫生不佳，我吃得拉肚子了。我心想：这就是依赖他人的结果，我一定要独立自主，学会做饭。爸爸常常对我说：“自己动手，丰衣足食。”我就照着这句话，让爸爸教我做菜。我对爸爸说：“我要学会做菜，中午的时候就自己做，不但干净，而且合适。我一定要学，成为自立能力强的人。”
从那一天起，我就在暑假里学会了炒青菜、炒蛋、蒸包子……我还举一反三，学会了做法类似的菜。到现在，我都会做二十多道菜了，练得一手好手艺，每次爸爸妈妈吃着我做的菜，都啧啧称赞。有时也会给我提点建议。我从此慢慢摆脱了依赖性……
爸爸常常教导我说：“其实，自理能力比什么都重要，就是学习再好，不会自理，照样没有用。”妈妈在一旁说：“对，报纸上说，一个单位面试，就考学生炒蛋怎么考，很多学生笔试通过了，就被这个难题难住了。后来一个笔试成绩不太好的学生，回答出了这个问题，通过了面试。一定不能依赖别人，做一个独立自主的人。”我将爸爸妈妈的话牢记在心中。我继续摆脱依赖性……
“依赖”是一种坏毛病，也是一种不得不改的缺点。只有你学会了独立自主，才能够独当一面，自己生活，成为有成就的人。
