为了拥有幸福，我曾拼命地努力过。为了能住上大房子，我舍弃了所有休假，把家安在了办公室，只为了多挣加班费。直到有一天胃病发作，不得不动手术为止。随后倒霉的事接踵而来，我离婚了、下岗了。没有钱，我只好寄居在娘家，终日以泪洗脸。为了生存，我什么都干。曾经给人当保姆，晚上还去夜市摆地摊。曾经在饭馆打杂，因为不停地洗碗，两手不断地脱皮。
在那人生的低谷，我曾痴痴盼望，有一天不再为衣食奔波。当我卧病在床，母亲端来一碗鸡汤，一勺勺地喂进我嘴里时，当我听母亲柔声说“孩子，只要活着，一切都有希望”时，两行幸福的热泪滚滚涌出，我才深切地意识到，幸福其实很简单。作为女儿，能享受到母亲的关爱，就是幸福的。

The destitution of life was absolutely depressing, but for his son’s future, for his own belief, Christ never gave up and he still strongly believed that happiness would come one day if he worked hard enough today.
