One day, Paula and Richard decided to make a kite.
First they went out and found two straight sticks of the same length. They brought them back home and tied them with a piece of string into the shape of a cross. Then they took some string and used it to tie the four ends of the sticks together. Then, they spread some brightly coloured paper over the frame and glued it around the string.They stuck a tail made of paper to one of the corners, and tied a long string to the centre of the kite.
On the next windy day, they took the kite to a hill near their house and flew it.

一个人在家里写作业绝对是件无聊至极的事情。爸爸妈妈刚离开家不到五分钟，王小天就觉得浑身难受，比患了重感冒还要难受。所以，他把作业本丢，就横着身子躺在了沙发上。
就在这个时候，门铃响了。王小天一骨碌翻下沙发，跑去开门。
门外站着一位年轻的推销员，他说他今天是来推销一种榨果汁的机器的。
王小天对这种机器一点儿也不感兴趣，他也不爱喝果汁，不过为了能有个人陪自己说说话，王小天还是很热情地把推销员请进了屋里。
推销员一进门就开始介绍他的产品。他说他的榨汁机是最新的，榨出来的果汁又细腻又好喝。他指了指机器顶端的一个圆形的小洞，说只要把水果切成块放在里面，一通电就行了。
这个推销员把榨果汁说得比去水龙头那里接自采水还要简单
王小天故意装做听不懂的样子，他请求推销员把刚才的话再重复一遍。
年轻的推销员说起话来吐字清晰，铿锵有力，就像电台里的播音员那样，有一副好嗓子。他一共给王小天介绍了三遍榨汁机的使用万法。
王小天还是一副云里雾里的样子，睁着一双迷茫的眼睛盯着推销员。
推销员没有办法，他也许从来都没遇到过这种听不明白他的话的顾客。他略微迟疑了一下，从随身的'背包里掏出一只水晶梨，说道：“看好了，马上就能榨出梨汁来。”他立刻就要给王小天演示如何榨一杯梨汁。
推销员问清楚了厨房的位置(这回王小天没有存心和他捣乱。他先到厨房里把手洗干净，然后拿一把水果刀把水晶梨去皮，切成小块，接着又把这些小梨块塞进榨汁机顶部的小洞里。“马上，你就可以喝到一杯新鲜的水晶梨汁了!”推销员对他的产品充满信心。他还让王小天去取只小杯子来接果汁。
可王小天取采的却是家里最大号的杯子。榨汁机通上电，发出哼哼唧唧的声音，很快就有梨汁淌出来了。可是，王小天拿采的杯子实在是太大了，一只水晶梨榨出的汁勉强能覆盖住杯低。
推销员也觉得这只水晶梨榨出的汁太少了，于是他又取出一只稍微大一些的水晶梨，重新给王小天榨了一次果汁。
这回，大杯子里的水晶梨汁总算比最开始多了一些。不过，王小天张着大嘴，“咕咚咕咚”两口就把梨汁喝进肚子里去了。“还能榨别的汁吗?”王小天一边舔看嘴唇，一边问推销员。
推销员说：“当然能!只要你愿意，什么水果都能拿来榨汁喝。”
王小天一听推销员这么说，就把冰箱里的水果都翻出来了。有一个西瓜、三个青苹果、一串葡萄、两个芒果和半个柚子。
很快，王小天就喝到了西瓜汁、苹果汁、葡萄汁、芒果汁和柚子汁。
“蔬菜能榨汁吗?”王小天装出很天真的样子，又给推销员出了题目。
“当然能，很多蔬菜都能拿来榨汁哦!”推销员一点儿也没让王小天失望。
于是，王小天又把冰箱里的蔬菜统统翻出来，运到客厅里。共计五个西红柿、三根胡萝卜、一把芹菜，这些都是妈妈准备做晚饭时炒菜用的。
不过，王小天早就把炒菜这件事忘到脑后了，因为那是妈妈需要操心的，他从来都没想过厨房里的问题。他现在只顾着品尝推销员给他的西红柿汁、胡萝卜汁和芹菜汁。
经过一番比较，王小天发现西红柿汁是最好喝的，芹菜汁喝起来有一点儿恶心。
这个推销员在王小天冢足足演示了三个钟头。这么长的时间，即便是一个傻瓜，也应该学会如何使用榨汁机了。
王小天实在不好意思继续装傻瓜，在推销员的指导下，他不得不正确地操作了一回榨汁机，为自己榨了一点儿胡萝卜汁。
“怎么样?”推销员问，“它使用起来是不是很简单，很方便?”
王小天点了点头。不过刚点过头，他就后悔了，因为这个推销员接下来就该让他付钱买他的产品了。
