自律，换而言之，就是严于律己。它是与监督想对立，更强调自我约束和自觉规范的一种意识。自律，就是要在思想，品德，行为上从严要求自己。古人云;君子责己，小人责人。从古至今都把能否严于律己当作衡量一个人道德修养高下的标准。因此，我们应该在任何时候，任何地点，任何时候情况下都做到自律。
要想做到自律，首先要理解监督和自律的关系。监督意指被动地接受来自外界施加于自身的规责和看管。而自律则是主观的，能动的适应。它们均能达到约束行为的目的，自然都是必要的。但想较之下，自律显得更为重要和积极。就作用而言，监督也是为了使人们更好的自律。

先之，要从自身严格要求。不能正其身，如正人何?现在我们所身处的世界真得很复杂。有无数的新奇和诱惑，如何正确的对待关系到我们的一生。来自网络的纷繁复杂的虚拟，来自现实无花八门的骗人把戏，我们的确很难应对。所以，自律就非常的重要。保正不做第一次就是一种拒绝，就是一种自我保护。
再之，要经常自省，自察，自我批评和自我约束。德过哲学家海涅说，反省是一面镜子，它能够将我们的错误清清楚楚地照出来，使我们有机会改正。一个人的愚笨不在他的无知，而在他不知自己的无知。一个学会审视自己的人才有可能认清自己，摆正自己的位置，才能有自知之明。我们要时时刻刻提醒砸己，什么可为，什么不可为，什么坚决不为。我们要问自己，你在做什么，你该做什么，对你最重要的是什么?我们所做的一切的前提是没有妨碍到别人，而不是只为了自身。

虽说难，但是，我们班的王媛鹭同学，她却凭着耐力与坚守，做到了这一点。可想而知，她在这个过程中，花费了多少精力与汗水呀！王媛鹭每天早晨六点钟就起床，起床后，她便以最快的速度穿好衣服，去刷牙洗脸。做好这些事后，她妈妈已做好了早餐，王媛鹭吃好早餐后，就可以去上学了。到了学校，她要做的第一件事就是读书、温习课文，无论别人这样叫她，她都装作没听见，继续温习她的课文，因此也经常弄得同学们哭笑不得。而且王媛鹭每个星期五都会在家长规定的时间内把所有作业统统完成，只剩下一篇作文。
我不禁被她那坚持不懈、自律自强的品格所感动。她也是一个小学生，她就可以做到自律自强，为什么我就不可以呢？我在内心深处发誓，我一定能做到她那样的！因为只有这样，我写作业的速度才会变快，也不用担心会被老师骂了，爸爸妈妈也不用担心我的作业有没有写完了。而且，我在星期五完成了作业，星期六星期天就可以尽情地和妹妹嬉戏了！我还要在家里制定一个生活表：每天六点起床，用十分钟刷牙洗脸，用十分钟吃早餐，七点半之前到达学校，每晚八点前完成作业，周末在家不许睡懒觉等等。我只要改掉坏毛病，养成好习惯，我的苦恼就会减轻一大堆，写起作业来也会感到无比得轻松，这该多好呀！
从此以后，我一定要做到自律自强；我一定会与时间在同一条赛道上奔跑！自律自强，我将向你冲刺！
