今天早上，阳光明媚，我一路唱着歌向家中走去。走着走着，前面突然冒出个捡垃圾的，只见她手里拿着袋子和棍子，在垃圾桶里搅来搅去，弄得那是臭气熏天呀。我赶紧捂着鼻子，就像躲瘟疫一样躲开了她。我边走边踢着刚喝完的矿泉水瓶子，这时，那个捡垃圾的瞅见了这个瓶子，她抬起脏兮兮的脸，那无神的眼睛分明是说：“小朋友，能把瓶子给我吗？”你要，我偏不给，就使劲一踢，踢得老远老远，没想到她跑过来去追，我忍不住哈哈大笑起来。
走到一书摊前，我顺手拿起一本《情感读本》看起来，突然有几行字跃入我的眼帘。《扬子晚报》4月15日报道：13日下午，汀苏盐城一位常年捡破烂的老人，来到盐城市慈善会把自己多年来主要靠捡破烂积蓄下来的10万元捐给慈善会，并再三要求“这笔款子要用于救灾”。就在去捐款的路上，老人还陆续捡了3个他人丢弃的塑料瓶，让人感动。我的心不觉一震，多么无私的爱呀！我抬起头，久久望着那位捡垃圾的阿姨。是啊，他们生活在社会最底层，但他们也有尊严呀，他们靠自己的劳动挣钱。劳动本身没有高低贵贱之分，如果我们的生活没有清扫工、没有修鞋的、没有修下水道的这些底层劳动者。想想看，我们的生活会是什么样呢？
想到这里，我真为自己刚才的做法感到惭愧，于是不觉加快脚步，向那位阿姨走去。“阿姨，让我帮你捡吧！”阿姨抬起头，不解地望着我：“不用了，小朋友。”我不由分说抢过她手中的棍子就捡起来。路过的几个小朋友也受到我的感染，纷纷帮阿姨捡起来。我知道，我的力量是微不足道的，就让我们大家一起行动起来吧，给他们一个微笑、一点便利、一点理解、一份宽容、一点关爱。当看到他们艰难地推车时，请你伸出手推一把，当看到他们艰难的行走时，请你搀扶一下，我相信你的一点关爱、一份力量，很有可能温暖他的一生，让他感动一生。

the summer vacation had come round again. i was happy that i could forget about school at least for a while. lest i fool around all through this summer vacation, i made a plan as to how to spend it. first, i thought i should go over all those things my teachers taught in the previous term so that i could have a better understanding of them.
then i thought i should take up some forms of exercise, such as walking, running and rowing, to keep me physically strong. it stood to reason that with such a good plan i should make the best of my vacation time. i did, because i lived up to what i had planned.
