She has a large collection of items that have to do with China, such as books videos, tea, artworks, and so on. 今年暑假，妈妈带我去北京旅游并参观了举世闻名的万里长城。”孟姜女哭长城“的传说在我心底有好几年了，这次来北京终于可以如愿以偿看一看长城了。来到八达岭长城，这里有天下第一关——居庸关。站在长城脚下，仰望着这座由许许多多劳动人民用心血建造的长城。高耸的山脉上架着长城一格一格的石梯，每隔一段路就有一座堡寨（相当于城楼）。我按捺不住激动的心，我兴冲冲地上了城墙。城墙左侧这里立着一座”好汉碑“，俗话说”不到长城非好汉“。在附近一座石碑上写着”居庸叠翠“四个苍劲有力的大字。据说乾隆爷曾多次游览这里，赋写了居庸叠翠诗句，并题写了”居庸叠翠“立碑于居庸关东南的大道旁。
根据导游的提示我们沿着”好汉“碑上了左侧的长城。我还注意到这个阶梯大大小小，走起路来磕磕绊绊。谁都知道，旅游胜地总有小摊小铺，长城也不例外。这些店铺里卖的最多的就是锁。一条条铁线系在石头做的板上，而线上挂着奇形怪状的万情锁。站在阶梯上，偷偷往后看。殊不知，我们已站在了悬崖边上，只要稍不留意，就会沿着阶梯摔下来。我再也不敢往后俯视了，这个居庸关实在是太陡太险了。两侧的山势雄奇，翠嶂如屏，林木繁茂，景色太优美了，故有”居庸叠翠“之名。居庸关始于秦代，历来是兵家必争之地。
又来到一座烽火台，我浑身已经湿透了，于是便又靠着墙壁休息下来。趁这休息时间，我们观赏着眼前的这大好河山。山上一片片绿葱葱的景色。绿色的树叶占据着我的眼睛。看着看着，我不禁在想：当时没有现在这样有先进的机器设备，在这绵延不绝的山脉上是如何用这些笨重的石头搭起这座壮观宏伟的长城的呢！
还没爬多长时间，个个早已气喘吁吁了。要不是赶时间，我想今天一定要爬个够，真想把嘉峪关到山海关通通浏览一遍，看看这长城到底有多长、有多高有多险。以后有机会我一定会再次爬长城的。

当时没有任何机械，全部劳动都由人力完成，工作环境又是崇山峻岭、峭壁深壑，十分艰难。长城东起山海关，西至甘肃嘉峪关，东至鸭绿江。从东向西行经10个省区市。长城的总长度为8851800米，其中人工墙体长度为6254239.662米，堑壕和天然形成长度为2594234.2265米。长城始建于春秋战国时期，历史达2000多年，总长度达532万米以上。我们今天所指的万里长城多指明代修建的长城，它西起中国西部甘肃省的嘉峪关，东到中国东北辽宁省的鸭绿江边，长635万米。它像一条矫健的巨龙，越峻岭，经绝壁，穿草原，跨沙漠，起伏在崇山峻岭之巅，黄河彼岸和渤海之滨。古今中外，凡到过长城的人无不惊叹它的磅礴气势、宏伟规模和艰巨工程。长城是一座稀世珍宝，也是艺术非凡的文物古迹，它象征着中华民族坚不可摧永存于世的伟大意志和力量，是中华民族的骄傲，也是整个世界的骄傲。
