这时候，正巧老熊来了。老熊想一想，对它们说：“你们还是再进行一次比赛吧，我来当裁判。你们看，小河对面有棵桃树，谁先摘到桃子，就是谁的本领大。预备——跑！”跑起来，当然是大象跑得快，一眨眼就把猴子抛离很远了。它一直跑到小河边，只一跳，就跳过了小河，向桃树跑去。猴子在后面紧紧追着，跑呀跑呀，好不容易才跑到小河边，可是它跳不过去，非常着急！大象早已经在桃树底下了。可是，桃树很高，它跳来跳去总是拿不到桃子。大象心想：“对呀！我跟猴子一起摘桃子，一定可以把桃子摘下来。”它连忙跑回去把猴子驮过对岸，一起摘到了桃子。
猴子和大象把桃子交给了老熊。老熊说：“现在你们明白了吧，你们两个都有本领，合作起来本领更大！”
