我依然清晰地记得，正月初二那天，我和哥哥一大早就到市政府里去观看表演，放眼望去，市政府里人山人海的，市民们都挤在台阶上，连喘气都成了问题，大家都在等待着……
这时，空气中飘来一阵锣鼓声，人们不约而同地把目光投向远方，只见在公路的尽头出现了一支大旗，上面赫然地写着：“南山英歌队”五个大字。顿时间，“英歌来了”这个消息在人群中爆开，欢呼声、锣鼓声、称赞声响成一片。只见英歌队边走边舞，一路敲锣打鼓，到了市政府面前，他们就更来劲了，他们手中的棍子就如同他们身体的一部分一样，花般灵巧，挥洒自如，还不时地吼出一嗓子，让人听了不禁热血沸腾，市政府里的气氛也因英歌队的.到来而变得极其高昂，大家都看得入了迷，有的鼓起了掌，有的拿照相机照着，拍下了那美好的一瞬间。
英歌队表演完毕后，潮汕锣鼓队向我们迎面走来，他们穿着节日的盛装，熟练地敲打锣鼓。让我惊叹的是，数十人组成的锣鼓队在表演时，竟只发出同一个鼓声，数十人如同一人一般，数十人连为一体，完美的表演再次将现场推向高潮。一些老人们也跟着哼起了曲儿，整个锣鼓队充满了喜气洋洋的过年气氛。
他们给政府拜完年后，便进行巡游，锣鼓队伍不断前进，人们在后面追逐着，道路上充满了大人们的欢呼声和孩子们的欢笑声。无论是大人还是小孩，都为新的一年的到来，发出自己最真诚的笑容，他们笑了，也许是因看到英歌锣鼓队的表演;也许是因这喜庆的气氛;也许是自己长大了一岁;也许……
