每个人都有自己浓厚的兴趣，有的人喜欢绘画，他们把一张张单调乏味的白纸渲染成一件件五彩缤纷的艺术品；有的人热爱踢足球，他们奔跑在空旷的球场上，洒下了太多太多的汗水，也得到了太多太多的欢乐；有的人喜爱阅读，他们啃食着“精神的粮食”，久久陶醉在心灵的盛宴里。而我，却对从那一张张报纸中剪下的“小窗口”情有独钟。
爸爸是个很喜欢阅读报纸的人，家里自然而然也就堆满了报纸，而我的任务便是从这报纸堆中搜寻“精华”，然后再将它们小心翼翼地剪下来贴进自制的小册子里。
日积月累，我的“报册”已经很厚了，里面真是应有尽有。什么优美诗篇，生活小窍门，经典作文，具有重大意义的新闻，甚至小笑话，小故事都被我分门别类地贴了进去。
在我的“报册”里，有一篇故事被我慎重地贴在第一页，它讲的是一个双手残疾，相貌奇丑的女孩，梦想成为一个著名的歌唱家。当别人知道她的梦想后，非但没有人支持她，一些不友好的人还对她热潮冷讽，说这只不过是个梦想，一个失去双手的女孩只能是个废人，可女孩不丧气，她说：“贝多芬双耳失聪，他都能成为歌唱家，为什么别人可以做到，我就不可以？”她靠着不懈的努力和悦耳的歌声打动了一所著名的音乐学院的校长，他破例录取了她，让这个特殊的女孩走进了大学校园。几年后，她终于成为了一位著名的歌唱家。在我第一次阅读这个故事时我就明白了一个道理：只要你付出努力，不论你是怎样的人，你都能成功。
生活小窍门告诉我许多生活的捷径。通过它们，我知道了装修新房后用什么可以去除油漆味，什么样的植物放在室内，什么不能与牛奶一起喝等等。他们为我解决了很多生活中的难题。
每当我不开心时，我就会翻开我的“报册”，到一些有趣的笑话来读，然后放声一笑，不知不觉中，那些烦恼与不高心的事就被跑到九霄云外去了。小笑话，小故事看似简单，却总能在我需要时让我开怀大笑。
我感到很幸运我有这个爱好，在那一张张散发着墨香的报纸里，我剪下的是快乐，得到的是知识。

One day, Paula and Richard decided to make a kite.
First they went out and found two straight sticks of the same length. They brought them back home and tied them with a piece of string into the shape of a cross. Then they took some string and used it to tie the four ends of the sticks together. Then, they spread some brightly coloured paper over the frame and glued it around the string.They stuck a tail made of paper to one of the corners, and tied a long string to the centre of the kite.
On the next windy day, they took the kite to a hill near their house and flew it.
